Sure. Just for fun. But i dont think necessary for being a complete kicker. Good flexibility, balance and distance awareness is all important attributes.
And cocaine according to my reddit friends. Best kicker in the 80s was probably Philip Rhee

I remember seeing Kevin Ross having a sanda fight on his record and in his book, he basically says in the 90s and early 2000s if you wanted to fight kickboxing or Muay Thai it was catches catch can. You had to say yes to literally anything.Only six real muay thai fights.
I did a bunch of amateur Sanda fights in the late 90s. But i only count my six muay thai fights as real fights.
I also got my ass kicked in 2007 in an internet challenge match from a big MMA guy. I lost by tko from lowkick. Good times.
