Shogun, Mousasi, Romero...

You dont want to respect him as a beast and one of the best middleweights in world- fine , that's your opinion but to call him " one of the most overrated " ( in context to your applied fighters in op as well) is just silly .
He is a beast and I wish him much success but he has been a letdown to me at times. And like I said , in matchups people act as if he's unbeatable when evidence suggests otherwise.

He's an intelligent fighter overall and I always enjoy guys like him but I'm just calling it like I see it here.

Valentina Shevchenko is more overrated here than the 3 guys in the title combined and cubed.

Maybe considering the hype, but in a perverse sense I think it's almost come full circle now and he's underrated. It's back to being Aldo was a fluke, full camp and cream Mendes would have crushed him, he lost to Diaz twice, the decision was fixed, and Eddie was paid to take a dive sorta stuff.

Agree with this, people forget the run he went on, plus jumping two weight classes was ridiculously ballsy and he ended up winning the rematch.

Dude are you seriously using the Latifi fight as though that meant anything.

Not only did no one except Swedes know who the fuck Latifah was back then, but Mousasi openly admittedly to playing the conservative GSP jab fuck game in that fight.

Talk about a Monday morning quarterback call.
First off - I have a great memory so in fairness, latifi had to cut a shitload of weight cause teammate backed out.
However- everytime Mousasi took back of latifi, he had to jump off cause of ACL. He took fight but Gus didnt cause some innocuous cut( imo). I'll even admit I was glad cause i didnt want to see gus fight that early in gegards ufc tenure......just like cheata fight. Does anyone learn from history and common sense? Alot of elite fighters come to UFC, suffer a few setbacks ,change up their training and become UFC champions ( twood- rockhold-rda- stipe......just to name a few- Alvarez, ..... I could keep going- get point ?)

Mousasi would KO Adesanya boy. and you know it.
Gastelum short stocky extensions almost put him out several times. Moose runs a clinic on him or just takes him to ground and pounds him out which would be easiest path. Izz can be slick ( on feet)- I'll give him that.

Who is the most overrated fighter in Sherdog history? I'm not talking about overrated by the "casual fans" or general public. I'm talking specifically about members of these forums.

Almost anytime these men are brought up, people act as if no one could beat them when evidence suggests otherwise. Shogun not so much anymore, but for a long time people couldn't get over "prime" Shogun. The man's prime was so short it's almost irrelevant, lol. But at least he was able to defeat the undefeated Dragon. Unlike the next contender.

Mousasi fans always swear by him that he can beat almost any opponent by whatever he wants not named Jon Jones. But this guy got schooled by an older Machida, when he was touted by his fans as a striking GOD, who would eat Anderson for breakfast. Ironically the only other person people feel Gegard would match up badly against is someone I think he'd beat.

That man is Yoel "Never loses a fight according to God" Romero. According to Sherdog he's the scariest fighter to ever live. With his muscles and Olympic wrestling that he rarely relies on. "But his muscles and his power." Don't get me wrong, Romero is a fighting genius in his own right, but he is limited. Much more so than many of his fans can see.

So who takes the crown, or is there someone else you have in mind.[/QUOTE
Two of those three a sacred cows around here due to Pride connections. Expect a lot of breakdowns and only self-hysterectomies with this one.

Holly Holm has all those fighters beat. She kicked Ronda in the face and people thought she was a goddess, than she goes on to lose pretty much every important fight after that.

Overrated fighters on Sherdog-

Whittaker
Gaethje
Cowboy
Volkanowski
I think volk is given less credit than he deserves and the people who know what’s up, know he’s a beast.

Gaethje is a fan favorite but I don’t think he’s overrated.

I agree with cowboy for sure

You just Hatin! How can a woman who spent 8 rounds with Nunes be overraded? Need I remind you Nunes annihilated Ronda & Cyborg in under 3 minutes!
Can't see exactly who you're replying to, as I put Dipshits on ignore. However, they're likely just hatin'. Likely contenders:Dim, Kuka,Leto.

B.J. Penn he never won more than four fights in a row and was soundly beaten at LW but his fans rank him as the best ever.

Lol you're only proving my point by comparing Mousasi to Anderson and Fedor. LMFAO, Moose has never had a run comparable to Anderson or Fedor.
Your other points I pretty much stated in my OP. They are still overrated.
This is the weirdest reply ever. He didn't even directly compare them via their resume. Hey guess what buddy? my great grand dad is dead and so is Muhammad Ali, doesn't mean I think my great grand dad is top 3 boxers of all time.

Gastelum short stocky extensions almost put him out several times. Moose runs a clinic on him or just takes him to ground and pounds him out which would be easiest path. Izz can be slick ( on feet)- I'll give him that.
KG has dropped every MW he's fought. Time to give his striking some respect.

Volkanovski is very underrated imo, same can be said about Gaethje.

Shogun, Mousasi and Romero are actually underrated. TS is just a hater and a moron.

Adesanya. People want him to be the next Silva.... and he’s not
I disagree to an extent. Is it too early to safely say that Adesanya will be a fighter who'll be comparable to Anderson Silva in some years? A 100 percent.
Is it however true, that Israel Adesanya already has displayed very high levels of striking in the UFC, that are most likely the best in his divison and arguably amongst the very best of all active fighters inside the UFC?
Also true.
Now hear me out, that is not to say that Israel will win his next fight nor is it to say that he'll become an all-time great or legend, but both the skills, as well as his improvements during his time in the UFC have already shown that he's a very capable fighter with big potential.

I also think that Anderson Silva - who in my opinion undoubtetly is amongst the GOATs in this sport - is not the flawless fighter or striker many people think he is.
Adesanya isn't flawless either of course, but Adesanya already does some things better than Silva has during his best years.
