Almost anytime these men are brought up, people act as if no one could beat them when evidence suggests otherwise. Shogun not so much anymore, but for a long time people couldn't get over "prime" Shogun. The man's prime was so short it's almost irrelevant, lol. But at least he was able to defeat the undefeated Dragon. Unlike the next contender.

Mousasi fans always swear by him that he can beat almost any opponent by whatever he wants not named Jon Jones. But this guy got schooled by an older Machida, when he was touted by his fans as a striking GOD, who would eat Anderson for breakfast. Ironically the only other person people feel Gegard would match up badly against is someone I think he'd beat.

That man is Yoel "Never loses a fight according to God" Romero. According to Sherdog he's the scariest fighter to ever live. With his muscles and Olympic wrestling that he rarely relies on. "But his muscles and his power." Don't get me wrong, Romero is a fighting genius in his own right, but he is limited. Much more so than many of his fans can see.

So who takes the crown, or is there someone else you have in mind.

Romero wrestling multiple world champ silver at Olympics, UFC contender at 40 arguably bet Withaeker for the title

Hard not to respect their resumes and their
skills
I still consider the pride 2005 mw grand prix the hardest MMA tournament to win ever.. Only killers and Shogun was just running through them.

No disrespect to any of those men. But when it comes to matchups, people act like those guys are untouchable.

Full camp Mendes would have ragdolled him.

He's 1-1 with Diaz. I can't see how anyone can take away the 1st, 2nd and 4th from Conor. I didn't score any round 10-8 for Diaz.

Eddie fight wasn't fixed. Conor beat his ass.

With all that said, the second people thought he could take Mayweather out in a boxing ring told me he was highly overrated. Btw, I called Conor winning the first 3 rounds against Mayweather just because he would come out the gate like a bat out of hell.

I seriously doubt anyone genuinely thought Conor would beat Mayweather, and I include Conor in that anyone. Sherdog was I'm hopefully assuming for the most part merely hyping up the MMA guy. And yes there are a few genuinely stupid Conor fans, but tbf which major stars don't have some daft af ones?
 
I agree with ts Shogun, Mousasi, Romero are all extremely overrated around here.

Bit of a story behind the AV mate. Shouldn't have AV bet on DC beating Stipe. I'm not a Adesanya fanboy, though I like his skills, guy's odd af outside the ring. I'd still favour Adesanya in the match up.
 
Mousasi had just finally started to stop being overrated when he decided to leave the UFC and lose somewhere else.
 
A) Mousasi outsruck a good version of machida 66-35[ cheata got t.shot after that fight]but lost on significant strikes and both walked away with 50k for fight of night. It was also his first fight back at 185 in several years and coming off back to back acl tears( he made chop meat of 205 latifi face with one leg).

B) timing and circumstances have been mousasis biggest enemy . Hes only fighter in UFC history to leave on 5 fight murder streak ( 4 early stoppages and leites worst ass kicking of his life - HE'LL TELL YOU HIMSELF but not in those words. A few months before that fight he beat up Bisping in a ,lol, split decision where he actually walked bisping down for the better part of 25.Only sherdog, lol.

C) has been championed in every top promotion over 2 weight classes and was 12 -3 under zuffa banner and didnt get his deserved shot at title in UFC ( at end as Mike tore up contract and I quote "bisping mousasi is bad for business "...." I'm the champ and I call the shots ". Mousasi wouldve been around a -320 favorite.

D) so- how " overrated " can he be ?......and hes in his prime now after a combined 60 mma/k1 fights and a what 88-90 % win percentage over the 2[ 8-0 kboxing). He just turned 34 a few weeks ago and looks like a fresh 29 CLEAN fighter.

I'm a massive Whittaker fan so the guy I AV bet on with DC versus Stipe thought it would be funny for me to have an Adesanya AV after Stipe picked up the win. Wasn't bad I'll give it to him. Thankfully it will be done by the middle of Sep so I can change it back to my previous Whittaker one.
