Elections Second PotUS Debate Cancelled Due to Trump Rejecting Format

@Bald1 they would need to isolate Trump completely, his entire environment. The CDC said people can stay contagious for 20 days after testing positive. The next debate is a town hall format.

They’d literally have to put trump in a bubble

There's been cases of contagion after 24 days, yet the criteria for isolation is between 10 to 14 days.

A Trump bubble isn't such a bad thing imo.

It was ridiculous all along. They REALLY thought Biden was some sort of drooling idiot who couldn't make it through a debate (even though he made it through 8 Democratic debates).

Yet these guys were SURE Biden was clinically senile.

Just shows the delusion of the right wing bubble.

???
Biden didn't make it through the debate. Did he ever even finish a single thought? He mostly rambled on about his son being addicted to drugs or something, and then just outright told the moderator he wasn't answering questions on policy. I can't remember much more of his performance than that. They should have just let him do an open statement for 2 minutes and then leave, because that's all the content he had.

The title of this thread seems like some real bullshit. Trump had agreed upon the rules and format 100%. Then, the debate commission, full of Democrats and Never Trumpers (per Bob Dole), changed the rules and format. They made it so Joe Biden could hide and have the ability to cheat. Trump wants a clean debate and they won't allow it.

Point being there are ways around this if the debates are really such an important thing.

Trump could agree to a virtual debate.

Dems could agree to one with safety precautions.

Once again this is being used as an opportunity to point fingers instead of finding solutions. Childish behavior.

The Democrats didn’t decide this, the bipartisan debate commission did. The Democrats simply agreed to the rules, and Trump did not.

I'll never get the cognitive dissonance of leftists. They are on a forum dedicated to a combat sport, where almost every weekend now we are seeing dozens of fighters climb into an octagon, without masks or social distancing, and fight. The same leftists that are a fan of that, then suddenly pivot and tell you that a verbal debate where people stand 10ft apart is too dangerous.

Trump said they can delay it a week I’m not sure why the debate commission wouldn’t consult a expert and trust science in their choice to make it virtual

This can't help Trump's already-struggling campaign. He needed a redemption from the last one and it's a missed opportunity for him to do a post-COVID mea culpa that would actually help him.
Agreed. He hasn't had a good month at all. :o

Fair enough.

So something like this?

The virtual debate would focus more on policy which is what the American people deserve and not the dog and pony show Trump put them through last time.
The VP debate was the "policy" debate. The actual presidential debates were just to see if Biden can hold it together for that length of time, and they still had to hire a "moderator" who interned for one of the candidates and change the format, and also change the voting format

Trump was diagnosed with Covid on October 2.

The CDC recommends a two week quarantine period.

The second debate was October 15.

Do the math.

You are suggesting the debate commission should ignore public health policy because Trump doesn't WANT to have a virtual debate.

Too fucking bad.

Have any of those fighters tested positive for Covid less than two weeks before their fight?

Lol. Posts like this really reveal quite a bit.

As a stand in for the virtual debate, America should just listen to Trump’s Hannity interview.

His plan for a second term does not involve any buildings with little tiny windows with no light,

Can you link me or is this it?
