Because Donald Trump wouldn't agree to a virtual debate and the debate commission wouldn't agree to put on a live debate featuring someone with Covid who is still potentially capable of spreading it, the debate is off.

This was NOT Biden's decision.

The debate commission said the debate WOULD be virtual. Trump rejected. Now no debate.

Given Trump's "performance" in the first debate, his likely compromised condition, and the inevitable outcome of rejecting the debate comission's ruling, it is clear that this is the outcome the Trump campaign was looking for.

No point in virtual. Might as well just play to campaign rally speeches on a split screen. The back and forth and how they handle confrontation is what we want to see in a debate.

If arguing couldn't be done online then we wouldn't have the War Room. And this is sans video.

This can't help Trump's already-struggling campaign. He needed a redemption from the last one and it's a missed opportunity for him to do a post-COVID mea culpa that would actually help him.

Joe didn’t need anyone feeding him answers in the first debate against Trump. He made Trump look foolish. He also didn’t need anybody feeding him answers against Bernie. It’s sort of a goofy narrative to keep pushing at this point. Trump is terrible in debates, embarrassing even. So he’s finding a way out.

Trump could agree to a virtual debate.

Dems could agree to one with safety precautions.

Once again this is being used as an opportunity to point fingers instead of finding solutions. Childish behavior.
