Look, even as a Democrat, I will admit that the MSM has been a lot kinder and gentler to Biden. There is no point trying to refute that. But I can give you 3 excellent reasons for why it's happening.

1) Trump lies. A LOT. Now don't get me wrong, every politician will stretch the truth periodically. But no one in the history of politics even comes close to Trump in lying. Either in frequency, scale, or scope. The number of abjectly false things Trump says that demand confrontation is several orders of magnitude greater than any other public figure. So he is confronted a lot more. He would be confronted a lot less if everything he said was not a lie.

2) Trump propagates conspiracy theories. The Qanon thing is just the most recent example. He does it all the time and has been doing it for a long time. Birther Scandal anyone? When you vomit out this shit, not only are you begging to be called out on those things, but everything else you say is subsequently treated with skepticism and derision.

3) It the medias fault he was elected in the first place. They basically let him ramble unfettered and unchecked with all his bile in 2016. And they did it for ratings and money. Given the role they played in the creation of this monster, I'd say they have a rather large obligation.

seriously, if people can't rationally perceive where candidates stand on issues, they're not paying attention.
