Sean O'Malley is NOT a Star.

Sean O'Malley is not a big star and can't carry UFC 306 by himself. As we already know ticket sells are abysmal and the UFC stands to lose big on this event.

UFC 292, Sterling vs O'Malley
UFC 299, O'Malley vs Vera 2
First, if you remember Aljo mentioned that he was shocked at how bad 292 sold. Also Dana never mentioned ppv numbers for these two events neither. This tells you everything you need to know imo. He'd be the first one to brag if they did anything worth while.

I personally feel that the UFC over estimated O'Malley's star power and they're gonna lose big on this event imo.

I agree. He just doesn't have the charisma. Fortunately or Unfortunately, in this business you need either a WWE-type polarizing personality with mic skills, you need to be unbeatable and really attractive, and all 3 would be even better. But cosplaying a colored-hair gaming pimp or whatever doesn't command the stage like others who will remain nameless.

The UFC probably did over estimate O'malley's star power. But I think that they've shifted to a longer-term horizon for his peak drawing power in hopes that his 14yo fans will grow up and start buying PPVs. I think he'll lose either in the octagon, he'll lose his luster or he'll lose both before he ever reaches a drawing power that's worth bragging about.

There are no stars in todays UFC. Not 1. Nobody. Nada.

He's in a star in the sense that people know who he is and he has a bit of personality compared to how boring everyone else is. Is he a draw though? Hell no.

Fighters are characters.

Like Wizard of Oz characters from a vividly colorful masterpiece -- Dana White brings UFC fight characters forward in his productions and elevates the stage in PPV's.

Sean O'Malley is an effective Clown Sniper that ADDS (not subtracts) to the positive UFC Experience -- his Star power is not my concern.

but why are you making stupid threads again
you clearly wanna talk about him
just ignore him if you think hes not a star

do you even realize when making threads like these it triggers engagement
the more people engage and talk about him that makes him a star right?

typical porierfan <lmao>
dude always contradicts himself

Does he make a lot of money outside of the Octagon?

If fighters want to start a business now they have to partner with the UFC (am I remembering that correctly?) so perhaps he brings in revenue in other ways ???

I think it’s because he had a very manufactured rise. That Petr Yan decision was criminal, his hype lost a lot of steam between that and getting KO’d by Chito and I don’t think it really recovered.

He also isn’t that much of a star, he lacks the “it” factor guys like Brock and Conor have. He comes off awkward, isn’t good on the mic and doesn’t have any aura about him while lacking charisma.

Well, how does the Gen Z feel about him?

I mean, he is not my cup of tea but the younger fans like him.

I don’t think they necessarily have to partner with them, but any type of use of “ufc” basically gets the company a cut or some shit like that

He said he makes a killing outside of fighting.

They arent losing money on it. The Gate's over 20 mill, the Saudi's sponsored it. They wont make as much as they would have if it were a normal event because they spent so much producing it but they arent gonna lose money.
Thanks. A good reminder to all concerned. Now we see why there's that extra descriptor following UFC Noche.

Enjoy the fights. It should be fun to watch regardless of whether the production team pulls off something specacular or something rather meh. Personally I think it will be some of both - like most every card.
