I don't feel scared cos Ukr this year.
Best friend from males I ever had had died.:(
He was a bit dumb youngster when we started to be friends and later he get more mature. Different way of road of life.
Lad had taught for " up skill " more than 200 already senior level tutors to teach de mining Sr level instructors in order to teach next generation of engineers for military and police. ;)

When he had died cos casual civilian shit with motorbike only then I get reality.
1 single car in funeral pocess with 1 person and this " guy " was actual and active admiral. Dressed as civilian cos funeral rules in this case.
1 candle and 3 peaces of earth from naked hand for coffin. And cool bow.
:(

So finally got around to watching this... Dang!

@Denter @Cole train timestamped the section where he talks about two studies on the effectiveness of DPICM vs regular artillery by American Military re previous discussion over how big a deal cluster is.

In short blanketing a 100m2 area with a projectile is multiple times more effective than obliterating a 5m2 area with a projectile.

Thanks for the link.

What the actual fuck? Ok, you've got to come clean about what you didn't in the military, because this is hands down the dumbest idea I've seen floated in any of these megathreads.

What the Ukrainian plan is for the last six-months, has been pretty clear. They are spreading the front as long as possible. They are doing this to fix Russian positions and logistic routes. This makes sense because the Ukrainians have been better at moving with speed. Ukraine has the advantage in logistics and supply, and this has been evident for over a year now. It would be stupid to try and consolidate a mass of Ukrainian armor in specific points and allow the Russians freedom of movement. So what you see now is the slow grind of pushing up to the Russian front, hitting the rear with better and more accurate artillery, and starving those units off.

But you want the Ukraine to conduct a massive air drop behind enemy lines? You want them to take slow moving aircraft (guys ain't jumping from high-altitude or fast moving planes), run the gauntlet of anti-air where they'll probably lose 70% in the sky, so that they can then drop a mass of troops into positions where they would have a fucking minefield to their rear; troops plus reserves to their front; and the whole time being within russian artillery range without armor support and without fixed positions to use as cover.

Christ, if I was a russian soldier who stumbled upon a magic lamp and got the opportunity to make a magic wish and force the Ukrainians to make the dumbest decision imaginable, a massive airborne assault would be exactly what I'd choose.

Are you just making this shit up as you go along?
obviously he is being advised by our starcraft general..

yeah man, historically speaking no one has ever breeched a defensive position in the history of warfare. They are doomed.
You have not shut me up yet dude. I'm still here talking.
I'm talking about the current Russian defenses in Ukraine bight boy. Not French or German.
Tell me exactly, in your infinite wisdom, how the Ukrainian Army is going to get through that?
I'm sure you have plenty of experience in that area do you not?

Blah, blah, blah. Can you summarize that 'garbage' in one paragraph please.
Tell me about your vast military experience:
. Branch of service
. MOS
. Units
. Deployments
. Rank
. Time in service
I'm guessing you were either Navy or Air Force. Looks like you missed the part about a night drop. Minefields in the rear? Reserves to the front? Was this not what the Americans did during the D day invasion in WWII? 82nd and 101st.

No, that would actually be you thinking of the Ukrainian offensive. Man, I thought you were more mature than this shit.

* ...and all the little stupid seals clap.

lmao

Begin conscription? I dont think it ever ended they are just going abut it a different way. Instead of announcing a mass conscription which caused 750,000 ish people to leave country now they are doing it electronically so the said person cant just hide when officers come to door. Not sure if those numbers are even accurate as these areas know they have been targeted way more then Moscow or St. Petersburgh.
There were some sort of ban regarding conscription and Chechnya and Dagestan. Like, if you are registered there you are not conscripted. I think in Dagestan there were some changes but not sure.
But there still were scandals with those who lives and registered outside - violence, sexual violence and stuff.

. Dagestan Republic, 2.6% mobilized.

Isn’t mobilized people are those who served some years in army?

And I looked in Google and found that seems like under Serdyukov as Minister of Defense it was a thing - low number of people was approved to serve and they served in inner forces, inside their republics.

I think even the greenest boot would know that dropping a mass airborne assault behind a minefield without armor support and still facing defensive positions would be suicidal.

But, Marine Corps, five years, 0321, one tour Afghanistan and one in Iraq.

Yeah, I've seen this stupidity from you a lot. Make a dumb claim, get refuted, and then point to a completely different scenario and say, "But it worked there!"

Just because we've had success in airborne drops in our history, does not mean Ukraine flying slow moving planes through a deathtrap of anti air, to then drop units in between a minefield and dug in enemy; all the while being within artillery range, is beyond stupid.

San Marino: The Ukrainians should all line up single file and march towards the enemy in close formation!

Everyone Else: Why the fuck would they do that?

San Marino: LOL! I guess you all forget about the Frankish victory in Toulouse in 587A.D.!

You have not shut me up yet tough guy. I'm still here talking.

You talk as if Russian wasn't facing attrition, defenses need to be manned, positions need to be recaptured, Russia is still conducting counter-offensives and losing men and vehicles.

They lowered quota for conscription in north kavkaz, hence less people serve, guys actually pay to go to serve

At 2 minutes 5 seconds guy talks about it

Ukr really needs to find a solution to lancet if talking single weapons, its blowing stuff up like tb 2 at start of war.

Like 6 lancet hits only on first page in reddit currently
