News Rizin Dying

Cross promote with Bellator and do an event ASAP. There are a few Rizin fighters that live in the US.

Bellator was supposed to come back in July and they haven't announced a single show yet.

How significant is that UFC Fight Pass money if LFA and Invicta can come back in July while Submission Underground is running business as usual? These three promotions have lower fighter purses, but I can't imagine the promotions getting more than 50k per show from the UFC.

Don't worry guys, I'm sending thoughts and prayers to Rizin

Gabi Garcia must be obese by now.
If she goes to Japan, her gravity will suck up all the Covid in the country.
Thus, she will be a national hero and they will create a she-hulk tournament yearly, filled in with female sumo wrestlers.
Gabiiiiiiiiiiiiii Garciiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

I think even less than that.

Sakuraba and Quintet got 20K to do their show in Las Vegas in 2018. The company ended up in the hole for over 110K. 25K was the investment for the venue, Orleans Arena.

So I don’t see Chael getting more than that. I do think LFA might get around 40-50K since that’s their Triple A farm system. Invicta should get a lot less, they only put 6-7 fights per and 3-4 of those are new girls fighting for 1K

Glad you liked them, I didn't...apparently neither did most people.
And you say that because they're not holding shows during a global pandemic?

In that case, I guess most people don't like the NBA or Major League Baseball...

I'm pretty sure Rizin's issues go deeper than just COVID.

Sak. has the vision of what Pride was but doesn't want to accept the fact that Japanese people alone can't support a product like that anymore. 10 to 25 million a year back then went a long ways in this sport and today that opens the door for you to be lumped in with second to third tier orgs of the world at best and that is being super smart with every penny you spend and probably still have a hard time making money. There is a reason why the UFC doesn't dump a ton of resources into the Japan market today. If they could make a killing over there they would've been doing it for years.

P.S.: Not too mention the whole Rizin thing from the start seemed very flawed in today's MMA scene. It was put together to have a few shows a year with the hopes of bringing in some talent. Just not much of safety net for the fighters. So most really good fighters just go elsewhere that offer more security in their career. 20 years ago the options where pretty slim for a fighter. Today though most would agree isn't great but you do have about 4 to 5 options of orgs around the world that can pay you a decent wage and do have better stability than orgs of yesterday ever did.

"Sit and wait for death" Why are the Japanese so fixated with death?

I for one am shocked an organization that matches up a science project against grandmothers is struggling.

Tofiq has offers from ONE, Bellator, and the UFC. In the artricle, the manager complains about the UFC low pay for newcoming fighters. Tofiq wants to fight for the UFC but his manager told him to go for the highest bidder, which makes sense.

Although Tofiq would be a great addition to the shallow Bellator LW division, the best match-ups for him are at the UFC. I wonder how much Dana would be offering Tofiq, given that he has no name value.

Well they can always counter and see what happens. Or maybe counter with only like 3 fight contract and then try to resign for more money. Show the UFC what ONE and Bellator is willing to give maybe the UFC will be add more to the offer. These fighters have to treat this just like any other sport. Don't just go take the best offer, use it against everyone and see where you end up. Teams in football let guys test the market all the time and half the time they end up right back with the same team. I hope his management is playing the game correctly.

Honestly, what is he really worth, maybe a 25K/25K kind of contract with escalators in it for wins. Remove the Pitbull win and you're left with a record of a lot of unknowns.

Regular fights with the possibility of a pay raise and becoming a star in the UFC is still better than one well-paid fight per year in Bellator or ONE.

Well, I don't know about that. Before Pibull he beat 3 UFC guys there in Rizin. He is legit.

The thing is, he is not even worth 25/25 if we are honest. He is from Azerbayan and UFC fans don't follow Rizin that much or even consider it a big promotion like Bellator. PFL and ACA champions are having shit results in UFC so his belt doesn't mean much. Regional champions in UFC get 12/12 contracts and can sell tickets for being "local guys" in some US events, UFC is never going to go to Azerbaiyan. So he sells even less than that. Is not about how good he is, his worth is what he sells, and that ain't much.

I can see why he'd turn down that offer to be honest. I'd love for him to sign for the UFC, but if they're lowballing him then he's not actually especially young so it makes sense for him to go after the money.

He might be able to win the million in PFL next year, be a good scrap between him and Schulte.
