that is really dumb and if someone I knew personally had said it out loud I would tell them to go to bed

I think Khamzat is the greatest middleweight ever. But I would just add a small qualifier to that.

Khamzat is the Great Middleweight ever, who is slightly better than two old welterweights, Usman and Burns. I would be in agreement with that statement.

There's a difference between being the GOAT and the BOAT.
GOAT is about actual accomplishments/ resumé. BOAT is about who you think in theory is/ was the best at a certain point in time.

I don't think a single MW in history beats Khamzat right now, but he doesn't have the actual accomplishments yet to claim GOAT status or even close yet.

Absolute epitome of the absurd degree to which "instant gratification" has infected our society.

it would be absolutely hilarious if he loses to limp dick RDR, caio borracho or a guy who unironically calls himself fluffy

He was taken to a draw by a washed Usman coming off the couch in 10 days, and went life and death with a journeyman LW

Everyone gargling this guy's nuts is on something i swear

The guy has beat John Phillips, Meerschaert, Whittaker and DuPlessis. I think he’s pretty fucking far away from MW GOAT conversations.

His point seems to be fictional matchups with all the best MWs in their prime, and that Khamzat would be a favorite in that scenario.
That doesn't mean that he's guaranteed to win against everyone.

That's not unreasonable, but to be the actual GOAT, he needs to rack up defenses.
I expected more from Zahabi.
Why stop there? Let's have hypotheticals if Khamzat had the training camps, training partners of Anderson's years of reign(2006/2013), the sports science, and training facilities are so much better now than those days, but the hypotheticals never involve those scenarios.

He has like 3 legit MW wins. It is WAY, WAY, WAY too soon for this conversation.

Burns fight was at 170 lbs where he was dying to make weight (and Burns was fucking legit as fuck back then) and Usman is the 2nd best WW of all time, didn't have to cut weight, stylistic nightmare matchup, prepared for a completely different style opponent and still got the win.

Stay salty though brotha

<Waaah>

GOAT requires longevity. Just because he's favored against champions of the past doesn't automatically make him a GOAT. MW champions have historically been strikers so it's easy to envision Khamzat winning those match ups.

I think this far too early to say right now. We got to wait until his career unfolds and than retires.

But interesting opinion / perspective coming from him.

Renowned MMA coach Firas Zahabi is convinced that Khamzat Chimaev is the greatest middleweight of all time.

‘Borz’ put together one of the most dominant performances in title fight history at UFC 319, logging more than 21 minutes of control time against ex-titleholder Dricus Du Plessis.

The fight itself left many fans frustrated with the lack of action, but for Zahabi, it was a performance befitting of a GOAT.

I knew this was about Firas Zahabi before I even clicked on the thread

I think Firas just got too excited in what he witnessed in that fight, He believes and assumes that Khamzat can beat any MW that ever existed in MMA. Therefore he thinks Khamzat deserves that honor of being the greatest in that weight class. When he forgot he has to execute and fight to prove that still. Still too much work has to still be done, until we can crown Khamzat the greatest MW.
Nah. He's just glazing his fellow Mormon.

No training camp > having a full camp

according to you anyway ahaha

a rassler who dominated a nonrassler is the greatest middleweight ever, according to this dude

yeah.............

I wonder what he would have to say about Anderson x Griffin. God walking among us? proportions

come on. stop this bullshit

lol, if Khamzat goes on a run like Anderson did, then maybe we can start talking about it. But no, he is not the #1 mw in history. Not yet.
