One is a dictator, the other is a pseudo-dictator (read: democratically elected representative who will be gone before long) according to moronic media agencies based in North America.
 
Putin changed the laws so that he can remain in power until 2036 at which point he'll be 85.

The other called an election just a few months ago.

I think some of the US far right do want a dictator.

They would have let Trump do whatever he wanted to stay in power - and some would have even gone further and taken action themselves.

They don't see it's just a cult of personality, and now that Trump's gone, it's suddenly less imperative that he was in charge.

I bet some literally would support a dictatorship led by Putin. It would make so many decisions easy for them.
 
A worthless question. At least Trudeau doesn't invade countries or prevent elections that are most likely fair.

The USSR was a failed state and had many territories that broke free when it failed. Putin wants to regain those territories. Ukraine being an independent nation doesnt want to join. Putin was hoping to annex the rest of Ukraine after his successful Crimea campaign. He was hoping to use the separatist in the east as an excuse for his actions. When his plans for the aggression was exposed he went full on invasion.
