Thank you this is all I want people to acknowledge about Fedor. That he was actually really damn good. I might get a bit hyperbolic about him sometimes solely because I feel his haters don't give him any respect.

if Fedor doesn't get the respect from MMA fans he deserves who the hell will in MMA?
People that act like Fedor was never that good really just out themselves as:
1) casuals
2) delusional haters
3) dumbasses
4) all of the above

You're lying because you know Stipe already has a better resume with better wins than Fedor. You know better, you're making an argument based on numbers that not only mean nothing, but are completely misleading.

Their age and overall record mean absolutely nothing, and even if they did, you know why they are the way they are. For a third time: more fights = more losses and older age. You know this

I absolutely love Stipe but he's not Fedor yet at all. Now, to be fair to each of these guys all HWs are dangerous with their striking because of sheer mass. But Let's look at some of the best wins.

Fedor
Prime Champ Nog
Prime #1 World Contender Crocop
Prime #3 in World Contender Andrei Arlovski (which he was losing)
Prime #9 Heath Herring (before Fed was Champ)
Prime 19-3 Sobral
Prime Brett Rogers (10-0 and just beat Arlovski)
Didn't lose for 10 years and 31 fights (unless you count the TK rules DQ)

Stipe
Champ Fabricio Werdum
?Prime? Gabriel Gonzaga
Quitter-Street Overeem (which he was losing)
Brain-Ded JDS
Second-Prime Arlovski?
In 7 years he's lost twice in 19 fights. Once by KO and once to JDS which he avenged.

Honestly I think people get deluded about Fedor. People make out he was this unstoppable god. it's difficult to compare how a fighter from back then will compare to today's fighters without a reference of comparison.

The only thing we know is when Fedor started fighting in strikeforce we got a better idea. Sadly Fedor extremist will try to shove the whole "Out of his prime" down our throats.. yet the Bret Rogers Fight that Fedor looked pretty bad in before the KO wasnt far away from his AA fight or even the Silvia fight. What we also know is fedors top competition, Nog and Cro Cop also had poor showings on the UFC it seems a little silly to suggest that they were past it also. I can see the argument for Big Nog but Fedor didn't exactly take punishment like JDS or Nog for example.

I think it's nice to have stories of this legend but people get too carried away. Stipe is a bad match for Fedor, IMO - better boxing, wrestling, size cardio on par.

"Back then". Noobs think Fedor fought in the fifties.

Fedor was on top when most of the HW division couldn't defend an armbar.

Stipe is not gonna get armbarred. Fedor's lunging hooks and flurries wouldn't trouble Stipe either.

Stipe by easy decision.

Actually he was on top when most of the division could PERFORM an armbar.

Wait this is fake footage. I've been told Fedor ducked the UFC and here he is KOing a UFC HW champ. Fake news! Sad!
Fedor never fought in the UFC, and he never fought a UFC champion. Time to wake up and face reality kid.

U desserve 10 likes for this one.

And its not only the HW div.

There has been a significant regression in submission skills at all levels.

Ground control is the new paradigm.

Stipe has recently benefited from fighters fleeing from him like they owe him rent. Both Overeem and JDS spent notable time jogging.

Fedor would likely do the opposite. And logically would land a hell hook or two. Depending how Stipe took these, it could be a quick night for the Emperor.

Which HW ever has had a more impressive run than his current 4-fight first round ko streak?

There are multiple answers to that question.

Fedor - his obvious 10 year run which you will discredit here shortly

JDS - Beat Werdum, Struve, Crocop, Gonzaga, Nelson, Carwin, Cain and Mir all in a row.

Both are more impressive runs.

Fedor was quicker, and was undoubtedly the better grappler. Miocic has more technical striking, lots of power, and the advantage of training in a modern setting.

It would be a difficult fight to call. I think Fedor would have had problems taking Stipe down, but on their feet it is anyone's fight. Fedor was very wide and violent, throwing hooks as he closed the distance, and Stipe is prone to getting hit as well. But Stipe's compact boxing and strength would make him very dangerous in the inside fighting as Fedor would close in.

Fedor also had excellent conditioning, while Stipe has shown signs of fatigue in longer fights.

Hard to say, but Fedor was overall the more complete fighter.

I would love to see Stipe fight Aleksander in his prime, or Kharitonov, as well.

It would hit the ground quick actually. Fedor by GNP or submission He would take stipe down quick and pound him out probably. Or stipe would leave a limb and fedor would sub him, Remeber guys prime fedor had excess to better supplements over in pride, Stipe doesn't have that luxury.

When I first joined sherdog, it was full of people that were convinced Tim Sylvia would keep Fedor at arms length for 25 minutes.

Every UFC fanboy was convinced he'd lose to every UFC guy, then he'd beat them when they left and called them overrated cans/damaged goods after they just hyped them for 3-6 months on how they'd kill Fedor.

LOL...i didn't even include nelson, hunt, or gonzaga for stipe. Just the first round ko streak.

and wasn't crocop collecting disability by the time he fought jds?
