See... here's the thing. If another dog got in my yard.... My Austrailian Shepherd would just play with it.
I have had two. They absolutely love people and other dogs, cats etc. I would put a baby's head in their mouth that's how easy going they are. I have watched baby's crawl all over them and dress them up and they love it. I had a German Shepherd as well but I did not trust it with little kids or other animals. It was a nervous dog, so I would always have to watch it.
There are breeds that have little to no aggression in them. Pitbulls aren't one of them. Sure they may do well with people, but they do not seem to like other animals. Not a good thing when you are in the burbs or a city where there is a high chance of them coming accross someone elses pet.
My Aussie/Sheltie is the same way. Another dog could be teeth showing growling at him and Rufus will go and try to sniff the other dog's ass and then want to wrestle. The only time the "big boy bark" comes out when when it's late a night and he hears something coming for the door.
