Thats someone like conor or even paddy at the moment. The can reach more people just using their own social media platforms. Ariel is benefitting way more than them. Ariel literally provided proof that Paddy reached out to him for an interview. Not the bullshit he’s been spewin. And it does help fighters with the promotion and is a symbiotic relationship.

You are spittin the Dana narrative about the Brock news. It has already been explained numerous times in here that someone in the ufc gave him the ok and Dana didn’t know about it. This had been the normal process with the relationship between Ariel and the UFC in terms of breaking news however It was such a huge deal in this case because they were creating a huge preview video for Brock and was gonna break it themselves.

Ariel even stated that had he known this was going to happen, he wouldn’t have leaked it. This was also explained in detail with his Schaub drama. There was literally no backstabbing here.

Helwani is an idiot. Two years out of college communications the UFC gig kind of fell into his lap. As a nobody he had access to the UFC, and fighters. Exclusives, and 1 on 1s, etc. It was a great mutually beneficial working relationship.

If he wanted to be Woodward, or Bernstein and actually make some kind of difference in the world. He would have tried to find a legit job in investigative journalism.

I won't say shit just fell in the his lap. Him like a few of these OG's were the only guys covering the sport of MMA. It wasn't long ago you could barely find a MMA story anywhere outside of dedicated MMA site. It's amazing any of these MMA journalist can even make a living off of it. By some accounts it sounds like very few actually can.

There is no doubt Ariel is fan of the sport big time and that is why he got into covering it and continues to do it. Not everybody is going to be the be Bernstein or whoever. Doesn't mean you can't look up to them and surely doesn't mean you need to follow their path.

Be hard to argue that Ariel isn't the top one or two journalist in MMA and has been for many years. I don't always agree with the guy, he has some blame in some the shit he has done. But really outside of the Lesnar return I can't remember him really crossing the line with any promotion or fighter. Does he stir the pot on some things, sure. But how else do you get to the nitty gritty of some of this shit with out asking the tough questions that could or will stir up issues. He isn't doing his job if he is dodging it all to a be just the likable guy by all. People want to say he tries to get attention for himself. No shit, Ariel is a personality and guys like Howard Stern, Joe Rogan, Adam Corolla, etc etc need attention to build their brand/platform. What Ariel is doing is no different. If the fans don't know you name I'd say your doing a pretty below average job as a journalist of any sport and by no means will you ever reach the top.

That’s not how it works. The Rock is probably the most famous entertainer at the moment yet he was on Jimmy Fallon recently to promote his movie even though he’s 10x more famous then Jimmy. Btw he’s didn’t get paid to be on the show.
