Hmm... nah. Not yet. Merab hasn't shown that his clinch/takedown game has lost a step and I still haven't seen much to think that Yan will have better luck against his hardheaded approach.
It's fucking Bantamweight.6 decisions in a row
This sounds better, Yan vs Omalley 1 was a robbery imho and it can be, or should be, for 5 rounds this time.Merab vs. Umar
Yan vs. Omalley II for the number one contender after that.
Easy ass match making.
the people to do well against merab came forward. yan could try that. he might still gas and get outhustled but he would at least give himself the opportunity to land damaging shotsMerab will make it a boring fight and grind him out again merab will only lose to one shot knock out power i think
Aldo was also a top contender at the time. Not sure he was ranked as he was just coming down from FW and lost a split decision to Moraes but he went on to beat Vera, Munhoz and Font.Yan has pretty good wins. He has wins over Corey, Yadong and now Figgy. He might have more ranked wins over Umar.
And how is that more exciting?I'm almost certain all the guys you mentioned are hoping Umar can finally end his streak.
Umar's legitimately the only one I think has a strong chance of beating his spamming TD style by putting Merab on his back.
