Boxing has for long kept PC culture at bay. I guess the most PC folk think the whole enterprise is beyond the pale so why nit pick further. Those who enjoy physical fighting are also probably less sensitive to words. Even though there's some downside, I'd much rather hear people being honest about race and other sensitive issues then have people self censor like in most walks of life these days.

I don't mind hearing Hopkins or Haney saying a white boy wont beat him. I mean its dumb and they can be criticized but there shouldn't be any consequences beyond that.

All this is to say I'm concerned that the Pauli firing may mean that boxing is going to give in to the over the top PC/woke stuff we see elsewhere.

These kind of things create their own momentum and it's pretty embarrassing to have a 36-8 former world champion lose to a 14-16 MMA guy or whatever Artem's record is exactly.

no, that's not what i meant, i meant if he is willing to jump into shit like that, it's very possible he said something on air, i couldn't find a direct quote from whatever it was that he said on air, however, in this day, he could get fired for saying something in his free time online. Recently, a seattle cop put a post on his facebook after a protestor got ran over, "all lives splatter" and he was fired. It's a stupid thing to say, sure, and it's a real stupid reason to lose your liveliehood, but that's the time and place we live in, learn to keep your goddamned mouth shut.

suffice to say, it's strange times we live in, lots of people are too sensitive over their precious little group. Some indians are pretty sensitive about being told they, as a group, have problems with alcohol. A local indian writer caught some heat for saying that even though it's true, and then he got his career effectively ended because he made a few awkward attempts to seduce women. the biggest indian writer in the country (sherman alexie) and now his career is done. In his case, i think it was ridiculous, he didn't rape anyone, he cheated on his wife and wanted to get as much extra poon as he could, nothing even approaching harvey weinstein or Cosby, nothing, yet he's done, but like i said, lots of these guys are assholes anyway, and sherman is an asshole, so, not a lot of his own people feel bad for him.
