Metal/Rock/Industrial Ozzy Osbourne

No way Dio was better.

  • Ozzy has a unique voice that has no imitators. Dio had a homogeneous voice that had many imitators.
  • The music Sabbath did with Ozzy was ground-breaking and completely new. The music Sabbath did with Dio was just good.
  • Ozzy's solo music was enormously successful and spawned many music festivals. Dio's solo music was just good.

I love Ozzy, always liked his voice. I agree with the poster who had issues with Rush because of Lee. I also have issue with Chris Cornell...great voice but gives me a headache.

Ozzy is is metal. He is guaranteed on the mount rushmore of metal gods.

I like Ozzy and Sabbath but they still get overplayed on a lot of stations which has lead to me constantly changing the station when they come on.

Honestly, he's metal AF but his guitarists are why anyone listens to him. Without Randy Rhoads, I doubt he'd have a career after he left Sabbath. He made Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman happen. Ozzy just showed up to sing.

I'm not so much a fan of his reality TV phase or the nepotistic rise of his rebuilt hag wife or his talentless spawn.

I like Ozzy on the Black Sabbath songs. His solo stuff, not so much.

The drugs he did really fried his brain and he seems to be a blithering idiot or he's very good at acting that way.

I'm not trying to be edgy, I'm metal as can be. My dad was a huge Black Sabbath fan, I listened to Black Sabbath pretty much every Sunday morning.

I just don't like him, his voice, anything at all.

Put your "this is where metal started" shoes out in the garden. I'm not alone, am I?
I loved Ozzy.
But especially live, he screws up lyrics and is way off key. Always was.
Better front man than vocalist for damn sure.

When i clicked I was hoping this would be a RIP ozzy thread tbh. He's terrible and his wife and children are all twats.
When Ozzy dies millions of fans will be sad when you die no one will care. Show some respect loser Ozzy has alot of great songs and put on one killer fucking concert. Just because his kids are moochers and suck dont take anything away from him. The guy has done more in 2 months of his life than you will do in a lifetime. I turn this shit up at my house and shake the walls if you dont like music like this than you suck.

I personally like his old stuff. But we all mature and move on from some bands we listened to as a kid. I used to be obsessed with Green Day back in my early teens. Now at 30 I can't stand their music. Same goes for a lot of nu metal bands.

He has a really good song called suicide solution. You should give it a listen.

I could see how maybe you would feel that way. Maybe child molesting Michael Jackson is more your taste ?

I know a lot of metalheads that don't care for Sabbath or Ozzy. Personally, I like his hits but you'll never catch me listening to all of his work.

There's a lot of newer music that's significantly better.

In all my years ive never met one metal head that didnt worship Sabbath/Ozzy. Ever.

I will go as far as saying that Diary Of A Madman is the greatest heavy metal album ever made.

I like Ozzy, but I feel that way about Rush. I'm a drummer and I think Neal Pert is awesome (From a technical stand point) but Getty Lee's voice drives me insane.
Totally agree. I used to say "Getty Lee ? More like Get a voice" :D

Is it a matter of your musical tastes changing altogether? Just curious. I'm 36, and i got tired of a lot of bands that I liked from the 90s but now my favorite band is the Strokes. I still really like Queens of the Stone Age and have really been getting into the Arctic monkeys lately.

Outside of his work with Sabbath, I'm not a fan of him either.

Tho, I should add that I went to some of the early Ozz fests in the 90's and had some fun
