Ozzy Osbourne

Dio is an amazing singer. One of the greatest metal voices ever. But if we are comparing bodies of work I choose Ozzy. Just voice alone ? Thats tough.
I saw Dio in concert and all he did was walk around giving the devil finger sign the whole time. When Ozzy put on a show by god he brought the house down. Dio can sing and has some great songs but he is no Ozzy.

Never saw Dio but yeah I gotta agree. I mean I love Holy Diver and Last in line though. Ozzy is still killing it live. I saw ozzfest at giants stadium with Pantera years ago. Sabbath was amazing but Pantera brought the stadium down, total mayhem. I saw Sabbath at the barclays in NY 2 years ago and ozzy still could sing. His new drummer was insane. Awesome 20min solo. Got tix to see them again next month at MSG.

Is it a matter of your musical tastes changing altogether? Just curious. I'm 36, and i got tired of a lot of bands that I liked from the 90s but now my favorite band is the Strokes. I still really like Queens of the Stone Age and have really been getting into the Arctic monkeys lately.

Yes and no. I still like a lot of the classic metal I listened to as a teen. Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer etc. I just kind of outgrew pop punk and to be honest Green Day sold out anyway. When I saw them on American Idol that pretty much did it.

I didnt even know they were touring? Gotta find out if there any NY dates.

Ozzy is alright. The Randy Rhoads Tribute CD is fucking great tho man. One of the best live records iv ever heard.

I'm not trying to be edgy, I'm metal as can be. My dad was a huge Black Sabbath fan, I listened to Black Sabbath pretty much every Sunday morning.

I just don't like him, his voice, anything at all.

Put your "this is where metal started" shoes out in the garden. I'm not alone, am I?

Dio is so much better than Ozzy. Dehumanizer is my favorite Sabbath album... \m/

I love Ozzy´s Sabbath albums but I am not a fan of his solo work.

Crazy Train is a great song.

I can't fathom how anyone enjoys metal music of any kind.

When i clicked I was hoping this would be a RIP ozzy thread tbh. He's terrible and his wife and children are all twats.

I saw your post and hoped it was an RIP post but thought that would be weird you posting your own death and all.But if you don't then I doubt anyone would care enough to post about it. Just being real over here.

Dio > Ozzy Why ? because Dio still had the ability to sing his songs before he died. Ozzy uses heavy heavy modulation and chorus on his vocals, its an effect. His actual singing voice sounds nothing like what you hear on the record or onstage.

Agree with TS. Ozzy is an annoying singer and bat shit crazy individual. His voice works on Blizzard of Oz and Diary of a Madman but Dio was better. Hell even Ian Gillan was better.

I saw Sabbath with Dio on the Mob Rules tour. My second concert.

Who cares?

Do you only listen to acoustic guitarists?
