Xbox Official Xbox thread

For this upcoming generation I’ve just resigned myself to the fact that I will probably only be able to hold a small number of games at any one time on my console. I got my PS4 in June 2015 and it only came with a 500 gb HDD. In January 2017 I swapped it out with a 2TB but if it’s not affordable this coming generation I’ll just learn to live with deleting games and downloading others on a more frequent basis.

I’ll have to talk to Mrs. Worm about changing our home internet plan to one without any data limit. I think right now we’re at 500gb (or maybe it’s 650gb) a month, and we basically come right up to the line or even cross it every month since covid because my wife is working from home and is on zoom meetings like 30 hours per week, our kids watch lots of shows on Netflix, and occasionally the games on my PS4 will do automatic updates (fuck you COD Warzone ) that will push us over our limit and then we have to pay extra.

ISP data limits exist? Do you and Mrs Worm use a MiFi for home internet?

I'm not really into racing games, but I believe the consensus is that Forza took GT over, as the premiere racing sim on the market.
I've heard pretty much the same except that a lot of is based on more. Forza has more cars, more tracks, more racing options, etc. But that GT is the more realistic simulator in terms of car details and driving experience. 700 cars is cool but am i actually ever going to drive all of them and if they're not all that discernable in detail than does it really matter?

What’s a MiFi?

Anyway, isp data limits are a thing at least here in Canada. There are unlimited plans but they’ll typically cost more.

I was able to get an unlimited plan from Shaw after giving them shit for calling me a "valued customer" in an email offering another cable package. I said if that was the case, why am I paying so much for just internet and a phone line? They went to "speak to the manager" and came back to me with not only unlimited but a drop in price.

If you been with them for a while, they're more likely to do something like that. Not sure about Bell or Rogers though.

We’re with Telus. It’s the one and only bill that’s in my wife’s name so she handles that stuff. The mortgage, home insurance, life insurance, power, water and natural gas bills are all in my name. I’ll just tell her to upgrade or talk to customer service if she doesn’t want me pushing us past our data limit everything months starting in November.

You never played neither? What you said is so inaccurate I don't know how to start.

GT doesn't have a proper racing game since the PS3. GT Sport is terrible.

You played it? Are you Travis Scott? Was it lit?
66GB minimum for Demons Souls and 50GB minimum for Miles Morales, with Spiderman remaster it's 105GB minimum. More than 10% for a remaster.

It isn't hard to find.

You called it “glorified DLC at best.”

But yes, games do in fact take up hard drive space. Crazy.

I've played every GT, never played a Forza.

Youre entitled to opinion but you come off like a fanboy saying shit like that, which in turn makes your opinion sound like shit especially when it contradicts everything ive read

Sounds about right. I play Sport now but ill be watching intently to see now GT7 and the new Forza match up.
Yea it sounds like they’re pretty much neck and neck going down the stretch haha haha.... FORZA horizon is pretty different though than Motorsport. You should check out some gameplay if you haven’t already.

I'll just leave this here

I've never played Forza. A friend of mine who has played both simply said I would enjoy it if I liked GT. I get the feeling that either game would satisfy my needs but I'm not a hard core racing fan. I only play single player (I get wrecked online) and I enjoy playing them casually collecting cars, tracks, and other items like that.

“The exact same boat” starting off with 60% more storage.

<Oku03>
Lol the word exact obviously has a brand new definition, could have easily said similar which would have been accurate.

But nope.
The console peasant boat.

Let's see....
Xbox Series S 500GB ($299) + 1TB SEC ($219) = 1.5TB = 2.90GB per dollar
PS5 Digital 825GB ($399) + 1TB SSD ($229?) = 1.825TB for = 2.91GB per dollar
Xbox Series X 1TB ($499) + 1TB SSD ($219) = 2.79GB per dollar
PS5 825GB ($499) + 1TB SSD ($229) = 2.51GB per dollar

Right now there isn't any real difference, here. They're both shit tier. I suppose I could pantomime dramatics about the fact the PS5 carries 175GB less storage than the equally priced XSX, or how it launched its pre-order without even offering a way to expand storage, but the big picture is exactly the same. If someone is the type to load up their consoles with a lot of games he will be spending a pretty penny for more storage.

except one System targets 1440p resolution while the other will be 4K.

Do we know if adding an SSD to the PS5 requires me to remove the currently installed one? Cause that makes a huge difference. For the X1 I know for a fact you are expanding your storage I'm thinking for PS5 it might be similar to PS4 which is way way worse of a situation.

No, there's a separate drive bay.

One is rumored to struggle with 4K.

Since this matters to you I went ahead and put in the console that doesn't struggle with 4K (and also allows installations from discs not requiring internet data).

You could do that but no one really cares.
