Xbox Official Xbox thread

This rumor was debunked a while back. The guy basically made it up.

Where was it exactly debunked? He said he felt the need to speak up because of the all the bias and rumours against the Series X being inferior to the PS5 and that he doesn't know the specific because it's info that's been passed to him. Unless he claimed to be the developer before, not sure though.

And then he may have been proven right in the last Sony show..

Look at that awful framerate and remember Sony said every game was running on a PS5 that day.

The "debunking" seems to be a Sony fan boy myth. He was also wrong about guessing the consoles being $600, big deal lol.

He also at the time mentioned that they were trying to get the game on the last-gen consoles. Looks like he was right.

Here's one of the devs debunking him here:

And this

Jeff Grubb said the exact same thing and he's pretty legit as an insider.

Yup, complete nonsense. Especially given that the recent RE games run at 1080p and 60 FPS on the Pro. Same engine but suddenly the PS5 is struggling?

Xbot fanatics are something else.

No, he didn't "make it up". He relayed chatter from speaking to devs at booths. Digital Foundry's own analysis confirmed prior to that rumor that PS5 was likely targeting 30fps for "many" of its games. In other words, it struggles to the point that it can't maintain the 60fps capability:
Many games from PS5 reveal may be targeting 30 FPS, says Digital Foundry

Digital Foundry noted that Ratchet And Clank, Stray, Returnal and Kena: Bridge of Spirits are likely to be 30 FPS titles, while Gran Turismo 7, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Godfall and Astro's Playroom are slated to offer 60 FPS.

Destruction Allstars, Oddworld: Soulstorm and Horizon: Forbidden West are expected to be 30 FPS, while the much-anticipated Demon's Souls remake is likely to offer a 30 FPS baseline and a 60 FPS option.

Xbox Series X is expected to target 60 FPS or 120 FPS. Digital Foundry's editor Richard Leadbetter explained "The emphasis on extreme detail also highlights the priorities of most of the developers showcased here — while Microsoft is talking about 4K 60 FPS and even 120 FPS frame rates as the design targets for its hardware, the vast majority of the titles in yesterday's PS5 presentation were concentrating on 30 FPS instead."

This should be evident from the hardware deficit. This is objective. The PS5's GPU is a 18% weaker, and that's comparing its peak FLOP output to one the XSX can sustain. In other words, the XSX's advantage is probably greater than that because the PS4 won't be able to maintain the supra-2GHz turbo clock without creating heat issues. It will have to throttle, or shorten the hardware's lifespan. The same vague disadvantage exists for the PS5 CPUs, where it could be huge, but we aren't given specifics, and it's easy to assume this is because Sony wanted to obfuscate their disadvantage. Finally, the PS5 memory is 25% slower.

I already posted a slew of gaming benchmark averages at 4K for NVIDIA GPUs analogous to each console's FLOP power. The difference in many games is often the ability to sustain 60fps versus the inability to do so.

No, there's a separate drive bay.

One is rumored to struggle with 4K.

Since this matters to you I went ahead and put in the console that doesn't struggle with 4K (and also allows installations from discs not requiring internet data).

yes yes. When the rumor (already debunked) fits your argument you won’t hesitate in dragging that shit out.

For the price there is no reason to buy the series S when there is a much better option with the digital PS5 which was the point you were trying to make with that silly Gig/dollar comparison.

"The PS5 doesn't struggle to run 4K! It runs 4K@30fps just great!!!"

I've played every GT, never played a Forza.

Youre entitled to opinion but you come off like a fanboy saying shit like that, which in turn makes your opinion sound like shit especially when it contradicts everything ive read

Just do some research on the matter. GT has been bad since 5 compared to Forza series proper and the Horizon series is considered the best racing series in gaming by many unbiased pundits. Just go watch some YouTube videos if you don't believe us.

AC Valhalla will also be running at 4K / 30 FPS on the Series X... it depends on the game and developer but some will (NOT ALL) be running at 4K / 60 FPS apparently.. just like the PS5..

https://www.google.com/amp/s/arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/05/some-xbox-series-x-games-wont-hit-60-fps-performance-target/?amp=1

Oh all that shit talking... lol

<GrassoBless>
Incorrect.. Ubisoft confirmed a few weeks ago, AC will run 4k 60fps on the Series X.

Very bad example since Medium has TWO screens at once.. That's going to be expected when you got high quality assets in two different screens at the same time. It's also got ray tracing.

the point is not ALL games will be 4K/60fps. Will more games be in this mode on the Series X compared to the PS5? Certainly so. No one is denying this. But to pretend no game won’t be pushing the series X and drop the FPS down to 30FPS isn’t true. It depends on the game and will be a developer decision.

Good talk from Linus Tech tips comparing the two new consoles. Well worth a listen/watch.

Tweaktown: More games during PlayStation 5 reveal ran at 30FPS, a few at 60FPS
Some of the PS5 games had dynamic resolutions at 1500p, just to hit 60FPS.
30 FPS
  • Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart - 30 FPS
  • Stray - 30 FPS
  • Returnal - 30 FPS
  • Kena: Bridge of Spirits - 30 FPS
  • Demon's Souls - 30 FPS, but may offer 60 FPS mode
  • Destruction Allstars - Probably 30 FPS
  • Horizon: Forbidden West - Probably 30 FPS
  • Oddworld: Soulstorm - Probably 30 FPS
Also, Ubisoft didn't confirm 4K@60fps for the PS5 until nearly a full two weeks after confirming it for the XSX. That means it took them that long to figure out they could hit 4K@60fps on the PS5 with easy enough graphical downgrades it wouldn't cause issues.

Oh, but The Medium will only run at 4K@30fps on Xbox!!! I found one game! I found one game!
