Yeah but comparing storage prices from end of generation to start of is a bit......
The 1tb versions took 4 years by your own post and that was before online storage / streaming / digital library options of this gen.

I don't know what this means. Five years ago the PS4 launched a console with more storage than the PS5, and it immediately became the most popular console. The PS5 regressed.
and that was before online storage / streaming / digital library options of this gen.

What is the purpose of separating "digital"? Digitally delivered games require storage space on the local hard drives the same as discs. Streaming games require a membership to PSNow, and suffer from lag, which is why most gamers are apprehensive about cloud gaming, currently.

Furthermore, this actually raises another advantage for Microsoft. PS Plus Online storage only allows up to 100GB of save states. Microsoft's Xbox Cloud Storage space is unlimited.

You can delete and load from your library, us what I meant. Games you’ve finished or aren’t playing.

100GB is pretty massive, I would think.
I’ve got 50+ games and I play(ed) about 40 of them. My save files are next to nothing.
But I can’t speak for others so....

Xbox also affords this service for free to all owners. Sony requires a PS Plus membership. Yet another area where the Playstation is inferior, that's all.

Also, this is just a backup. It doesn't spare the local hard drive any space. You can overwrite a corrupted save, restoring to an earlier state, or download progress to a different PS4. Unless they've updated the service it doesn't spare storage to the primary console. The saved game file has to exist somewhere on a PS4.

You're the one that's retarded. There are games out there that have been doing this already. Destiny 2, The Division 2 and Anthem are all looter based games that require internet connection to be played. There are no Offline Solo game modes for them...

NONE of these games can be played offline. That was the point. You can play the single player in Destiny IF you are connected online. Same thing with Godfall which is what you were criticizing the game for...
