I'm not so sure dude, she made really hard work of Kyra Batara who's like half her size.
Giovanna Canuto definitely needs some time to grow as a fighter. Hopefully the UFC signs Amorim and then lets Canuto mature as a fighter while winning/defending the LFA belt for a couple of years.
Not really IMO. She stuffed all of Kyra's takedown attempts without much trouble and knocked her down as well. The only concerning part was later in the 3rd round where it looked like she was getting a bit tired and coasting too much which allowed Kyra to rush her down and tag her a couple times.
If the best the guilty fighter can do is a no contest, then taking points per round is redundant. Either they can’t win, or they should get points taken, but can win with a finish. Personally, I prefer the latter. It makes for exciting fights.Like I was saying elsewhere the easiest ways to fix overweights besides fines which obviously don't work with
some is points deductions (1 per round up to 5) and a no contest if the guilty fighter wins. What a punishment
of such accomplishes is the responsible to make weight fighter gets rewarded but the one that is not responsible
is only providing a paycheck to the responsible fighter since most won't want to fight for not do to it not counting.
While I follow them, it’s hard to get excited for LFA fights. The results are too obvious. For example, last night’s title fight, you had the champ Amorim, a known submission fighter facing Nichols, who not only had 1 mma fight in the last four years, but of her three losses going into last night, one was by sub, one by g&p, and a decision to Sharon Jacobson, a wrestler. A challenger who was almost a +400 favorite really tells you how bad the matchmaking was.
it’s not just for Amorim, either. It’s like that for almost all of their fights; obvious favorites getting their records padded. I’ve seen people call out Titan Fights and Fury FC for it, but for some reason those people seem to like LFA *shrugs*
