I forgot to say earlier that I been hearing rumors that Maycee will be fighting JJ Aldrich. I am not sure how true it is yet but just saying what I been hearing.

It looks like my source was on point. Other Notable fights on the same card are

Randa Markos vs Angela Hill
Alexis Davis vs Jennifer Maia

Lipski vs Calderwood was straight terrible.

You lose on the ground to JoJo, better start over in whitebelt class.

You run your mouth about getting the Style of opponent you’ve been begging for, don’t shoot a takedown as soon as you eat a few punches that you seem completely unable to block.

JoJo still slow and unathletic,

Did you expect her to suddenly become athletic or something?...

JoJo needs to make the most of her physical abilities. She's never gonna look like Joanna or any of the other athletic fighters in the octagon, but she won nearly every minute of this fight and obviously did more than enough to get the decisive win.

It's always hard to judge performance in a fight like this because we don't actually know how legit Lipski actually is yet and thus we can't really know how much better JoJo has gotten either.

Lipski looks way smaller under USADA, hand speed still looked pretty good at start of the fight.

She needs to change camp. It's clear that she is used to be the stronger girl in the clinch and on the ground, so she doesn't know the skill of getting out of bad position.

Jo Jo is never going to NOT be slow and unathletic lol. She did what she had to in order to win and she showed grappling improvements in the process, so good on her.

Still, I was underwhelmed—they looked like they were fighting underwater.

in hindsight, getting the 10 ranked fighter in her UFC debut was maybe a bit overly aggressive?

Lipski is why I rate level of competition so highly. I been hearing about how amazing she was all this time and she gets convincingly defeated and out grappled by JoJo of all people?
<6>

This may not be popular opinion but this is why I can praise ilima for her elite grappling(which she definitely has) but I can't call her an elite fighter until I see her against someone better than Valerie. I would even settle for a fighter known for good takedown defense and good striking.

I'm pretty sure we can judge that her grappling has got much better. ADCC JoJo is born (with K1 Roxy in her corner)

Lipski - hot chick syndrome - great to look at but lies there motionless and is suddenly overwhelmed by tiredness not ze passionate luv u were expecting.

really dude? I think you're seeing things...

Agree on all points.

My word of the hour is "questionable". I don't think I've seen someone put themselves into an armbar as many times as Lipski did. On the other hand, I don't think I've seen that many failed armbars either. JoJo continues to improve her overall game, but this was still an old school WMMA fight with lots of questionable stuff that should not be happening.

I'm reminded of why I don't make calls on certain fights. Lipski almost had Calderwood run over in the early exchanges, then gets taken down and grappled to death. She then consents to a distance striking exchange instead of putting the pressure on JoJo and forcing her to make mistakes. Questionable. At least I got a couple things right, JoJo still reacts badly when pressured and Lipski has no striking defence.

Lipski has no offensive footwork, so she doesn't have the tool to bring out the pressure. It's the same problem troubling her in her last fight, yet her camp hasn't be able to fix this.

Rachel quit as soon as she got in trouble.

True. However, it's not like JoJo's a defensive genius or anything, every time someone runs at her and wings punches she gets backed into the fence and put in trouble. Just do the good old Chute Boxe windmill and she doesn't know how to deal with it.

Too bad for Cyborg she wasn’t dealing with Calderwood in her last fight.
