No Limit Hold 'Em Poker Discussion

Took a month off. 2nd hand back.

I check raise all in with 99 on 9 7 2 rainbow, for 90 bb.

Get called.

10 10.

Opponent shows 10 7



Guy dusts off 300 bb in next 20 minutes.


Then I get J 10 against same guy.

Check call every street on J 5 2 7 10. 200 bb pot.

He shows 10 10.
 
Payed first tournament in forever yesterday. 500 buy in, 50 runners, so nothing crazy.

Top 6 paid. 8 left. I'm second in chips.

UTG (who is 4th in chips) open ships for about 20 bb. +1, I look down with AA. Just call. Button and chip leader shoves for about 55bb. I have around 40bb, call obviously.

UTG has 99. Button KK. If I hold I have about 65% of the chips with 7 left and massive favourite to win the 8k for first.


........anyway, that was an enjoyable way to lose 500 euro in 6 hours.

My new opinion.

I'm fucking tired of Daniel Negreanu.

He was my second favorite player.

But, no more.

He can be entertaining at times, but he's so far up his own arse without realising it, he can be unwatchable at times. Seems to have absolutely no self awareness at all.

He's obviously a pretty good/solid player, but nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. Benefited more than anyone by being in the right place at the right time, (along with Hellmuth) and has milked the whole "poker celebrity" incredibly well.....ironically Negreanu has a low opinion of PH's game despite being pretty similar to him, imo.

Yeah. I don't think I could have said it better myself.

He's been talking about adding limping to his game lately like no one else has ever done it. And the way he talks about his game vs other players is kind of bs.

I really do think he's among the GOATs but he has such a hard time admitting other players are great I can't stand it. I watched some of his recap of the US Open from this year and it obviously bothered him to admit Cary Katz was awesome despite playing a different style. It was just uncalled for.

He refuses to speak Ill of Phil Ivey like he's scared of him, but everyone else he just backhands all the time.

But Ivey easily. Brunson is cool for sentimental reasons. I also like Bill Perkins and Alex Foxen, Mortensen, lots of guys.

I'd take it with a pinch of salt. I think a lot do turn it up when the cameras are on and of course they're going to edit the hell out of it. Good on them for capitalising on it. I personally can't stand Phil Hellmuth so I just watch the blow up compilations and even still, in small doses.

Having started watching them over 10 years ago, I do enjoy it when every 6 months or so, a Tony G video pops up on my recommended list

Hi gals and guys. I've been running good in some larger online tourneys and wanted to come in here and share that little bit.

3rd in a 1100+ player

58th in a 1300+

3rd in a 1400+

1st, my very first bink, in a tourney with 1278 players last week.

Felt amazing. Get it? Felt....

Anyways, I hope you all are killing it wherever you play.

Got cleaned out last night for about a grand in 1 hand. How dumb was I here.

I got about 1000 in front of me (2-5)

I had QsQc. Flop. QdAcKc.. I flip a set with 2 high backdoor draws.

I check. (5 in hand) another person bets 50. I'm only caller.

Turn. 10c. Now I have royal, nut flush draw, Broadway draw and trips.

I bet 100. He goes over ne an raises to all in. Now I'm stuck as that make me all in as he has alot more chips. I'm now thinking there's atcleast a 50/50 chance he has kk ,AJ,or AA or a made flush. But my draws are crazy even if beat and I'm sitting with trips (granted low trips on flop) .

I call a 2d hits. He rolls over AA and I get felted n go home early. <DCrying>



Could any of yall of laid that hsnd down at the all in turn bet?

If I'm covered and I don't have any more bullets, I'm folding that because Im thinking they have a made straight or flush, JJ is possible. If I'm not covered or if I have more bullets then I'm calling.

That wasn't a bad call though. It was absolutely reasonable.

You have QQ, against AA no less, and it still goes 5 handed, cheaply, to the flop? WTF happened?

LOL at the guy raising all-in with AA in that spot. Seems there's about 200 in the pot going to the turn? You lead for 100, and he decides to push for 900 (or whatever you had left) more despite it being the worst possible card for him? And you still call off?

Not gonna lie, don't believe this happened like you say......and if it did you both played it laughably bad.

Without knowing pre-flop action, hard to tell......don't see why having anymore bullets should matter. If you're scared money, shouldn't be playing.

As I say I don't believe any 2/5 game plays that poorly. QQ is little more than a bluff catcher there.
