The Oilers aren't doing Jarry any favours by giving up garbage time goals in both his starts. They scored 6 in each. But the result of the game was surprisingly inconclusive. There's no real temporary overreaction to have although you saw some of what we called the Skinjob. Especially not even reacting to McDavid on that breakaway. He lets in almost every breakaway lol.

Nah. I am a Leafs fan. I am far from alone. These last eight or so years of..."making the playoffs", have been more frustrating than the years of shit, slightly less shit Kessel years, shit.

It's not even the results. It's the effort. One of the biggest paper tigers in all of pro sports. It's unbelievable at how such a stacked team couldn't even muster up a conference finals appearance. People will look at this team on paper in the future, and be bewildered at their ineptitude. Legendary levels of choke. I've been watching this team fail since the 90's. This is a special level of failure.

And I am a sharks fan used to the choker label, especially after the kings reverse sweep. But at least we came within 2 games of winning the cup in the finals against prime Crosby/Malkin and had 3 other conference finals appearances during the Thornton years

The leafs record is......wow. Made it out of the first round twice in 20 years and lost in 2nd round each time.

I have a lot of leaf fan friends who made me eat shit for years, even while the leafs were missing the playoffs, about what chokers the sharks were and how once their rebuild was over they would be the 70's Canadiens. Matthews scoring 4 goals in his first NHL game certainly cemented that mindset

The other night when we stripped Matthews in of the puck in OT and he went controller disconnected for the sharks win was special. I didn't rub it in even then. I just proclaimed Celebrini is going to be the next generational superstar with the scoring of Crosby and the defense of Toews and praised the next quit attitude of the next Sharks captain.

Then we just came back from a 5-1 deficit with 12 minutes left to play against Crosby's penguins and it rammed the point home more. No controller disconnected on MegaMacklin
