Gawd I hate to say this. I’ve spent years mocking the Bellator guys here. This might be one of those occasions where the Bellator guy is actually better.

I wouldnt go that far but Nemkov is much better than Ankalaev for sure. Would be an interesting fight.

His offensive wrestling is very good too, he took down Phil Davis a few times in their fights. I would favor Nemkov, he's way more well rounded and has very good fight IQ too.

Also, Nemkov wasn't a championship caliber fighter 10 years ago. That same year, Alex Peireira was choked out Quemuel Ottoni, who is a regional level fighter.

You're saying that Nemkov isn't that good because he quits all the time when things get tough, but he hasn't lost in 8 years, including fights that you claimed were competitive (so wouldn't that mean he didn't crumble in front of adversity?).


The fact that people have to keep bringing up a loss Nemkov had 10 years ago feels like evidence that Nemkov is rather difficult to discredit. Whenver people cling on to one exception to form a narrative in front of a large sample size saying otherwise, it's pretty telling.

Bader is a better win than Davis, no? He had a couple of “snatch defeat from the jaws of victory” moments like when he fought Tito and Glover, but overall he has a really good resume, and did more than ok in UFC.

Between his Glover loss and Nemkov fight, Bader went 12-1-1, only losing to Rumble, and defeating Fejaio, OSP, Phil Davis x2, Latifi, Rashad, Linton Vassell, King Mo, Mitrione, and Fedor. That’s quite a run.
He also had previous wins over Little Nog, Rampage, and Jardine on his resume.

My recap was literally what happened. And no, losing to Jiri after beating the piss out of him in 2015 has nothing to do with why Nemkov didn’t sign with the UFC.

Never came close to sniffing a title shot? He certainly would’ve gotten one if he beat Rumble, Bader was ranked #4 and Rumble #2. Likewise, he was actually booked to fight Cormier at a Fight Night in what would’ve been a title eliminator, but Jones did Jones stuff, got stripped of the belt, and DC was pulled from the Bader fight and DC vs Rumble for the belt was booked.

Being ranked top 5 is not middle of the pack. Bummer he isn’t in the UFC LHW division today when they give title shots to dudes ranked #7 and #8.

No doubt a win over Fedor in 2019 or 2023 means nowhere near as much.

Yea, a boring style doesn't help in the long run, as the most exciting parts of your career will end up being you getting finished. People remember Bader for getting dominated by Jones[ and guillotined by Tito, mostly.
