Sounds like a great way to experience Wilds is via PS5 Pro or PS Portal:

I'd actually suggest "MH:Rise" as a starter. These games can be a bit overwhelming with their 900 menu's, ten trillion items and odd mechanics. "Rise" streamlines it a bit to help wrap your head around it all. It's a pretty good teaching tool that will help ease you into the bigger games. Going into MHW blind could be a bit daunting.never played the monster hunter games before but i'm gonna start with worlds + iceborne and then get around to this one after the dlc expansion launches.
this a bad idea?

Honestly you should have just jumped into wilds first. Everyone is saying the base game is the easiest yet and having a huge playerbase means they’ll always be help around the corner if you do struggle. I doubt there will be many online players left in world as they all will be migrating to the new one. Oh and one more thing, Wilds introduces NPCs that fight monsters alongside you so that probably simplifies things even further if you’re against playing with other people.well its too late to go back now, mhw already installing.
i heard that rise was easier and simplified and the maps arent as big or engaging so i ultimately went with worlds. now i'm trying to figure out what kind of build i want to start off with. torn between dual blades or the insect glaive. but the bow shit looks pretty cool too. or maybe a greatsword cause i like to bonk shit. i don't even know at this point.
i'm going into this shit blind. probably gonna get my shit pushed in but it is what it is.
Doesn’t the game not release until tomorrow anyway? I bought it digitally but I’m locked out until midnight ET. Won’t be playing until Saturday night sadly as I’m going to be busy Friday. My physical copy shipped today, damnit...i might wont be able to play it for tommorow and this week-end ! Ughhhh.

it only release today indeed, today on twitch it seems to be only the streamers that have an early access.Doesn’t the game not release until tomorrow anyway? I bought it digitally but I’m locked out until midnight ET. Won’t be playing until Saturday night sadly as I’m going to be busy Friday.
Dual blades are the best beginner weapon. Not much technique involved. Just slice, dice and dodge. Does pretty decent damage too. Sword and Shield is good for beginners too.well its too late to go back now, mhw already installing.

The great sword is good, but takes a lot practice and patience to really get a handle on it. I'd hold off on using it until you learn the ropes a bit.
Did you bought a premium version in order to start earlier ?ive already gotten into the greatsword. well now using bone blade 2 after upgrading.
its a little slow but it seems to hit pretty hard.
i'm avoiding using any of the defender or guardian gear as apparently thats pretty much cheating from what i've read. just started with the chainmail shit which i'm already growing out of in favor of bone armor. just gotta keep farming more mats so i can upgrade them and stuff.
starting to get a handle on this now i think. maybe not so quick though. just figured out i gotta sharpen my weapons.

You're right about the "Guardian" gear. It basically renders the base game pointless, until you get about two thirds in.ive already gotten into the greatsword. well now using bone blade 2 after upgrading.

The great sword is definitely slow and hits hard. If you can hack it, have at it. Personally, I thought it was too slow, even if you're doing okay with it. The fights go on forever with that thing, unless you're a pro. I think the hammer is a good middle ground.
I see you ran into the "monsters running away" nonsense. Yeah, it's a thing. You can stop them with traps and whatnot, but it's tricky when you're solo-ing. Think of them of tiers. I'd prefer the game doesn't do that, but it's all part of the design. Sometimes it's not bad, if you're down on health boosts and need to collect some shit for the next phase. But yeah, get used to it. It's a staple of the franchise. More reason to switch to a faster weapon until you're more adjusted to the enemies and their patterns. It cuts the time down a LOT. You'll do way more damage with the spammy weapons when starting out, and be a lot more engaged with the gameplay. Starting out with a great sword is a recipe to hate the game.
It's a very slow burn to come to appreciate these games. I couldn't stand them until I played "MH: Rise".
