Multiplat Monster Hunter Wilds "We Are So Back" Hype Thread

farming a rathian for some mats and it goes to retreat to where the barroth was....the good ole barroth i didn't like that fucker during my first encounter and then a few days ago when i was farming a jyrotodus it retreated to where the barroth was and the barroth RKO'd it and i laughed like hell.

anyways this time the rathian and the barroth started having a turf war and i just go in there swinging away on the rathian while it's beating down on the barroth, and then suddenly in walks the jyrotodus well far away from it's regular grounds and then it started getting in on the action.

it turned into a god damn royal rumble! the barroth was gettiing attacked both ways by the jyrotodus and the rathian and i'm just beating down on the rathian while it was distracted by the chaos. it eventually limped outta there just for me to slay it in just a combo of hits.

most lol worthy monster hunter moment of mine so far. i would have literally shat my pants hysterically if stone cold steve austin's theme song would have hit as that jyrotodus walked into the fray, because i sure as hell didn't see that coming. i'm just glad a diablos didn't decide to show up for the rumble or shit would have hit the fan!
Not trying to be a dick but you might just want to post in the World thread to keep this conversation more organized.

Wow, Wilds has sold 8M units in 72h and raked in half a billion in revenue, Capcom announces.

Holy shit. That's awesome.

Edit - Saw a comment about this "that's at least 8 million dead Chatacabras" 🤣

Zaz is right but what I can do as a middle road because MH fans are hardcore, is you post ITT but spoiler remarks for the 2018 World instalment; this way, readership knows the content is ex-Wilds.

Like this:

XYZ

Thanks.

Lol that probably covers the base game and the expansion and then some. All in 3 days. It's really fun, glad I have a Pro as it seems like the best place to play it currently.

There were other jokes in a similar vein that read now they can afford to optimise for other platforms than just PlayStation.

How is the distance rendering on Pro?

been playing the past weekend and honestly it's a massive disappointment for me. the performance on PC is just wtf levels of bad, then I found out the playstation 5 version only runs at 30 fps? This game doesn't even look that good. It looks like a slight visual upgrade from world. Does not look like a True Next gen game, Looks like a remaster of a ps4 game or something.

My pc is a beast too, I have to run it on lowest settings to get above 60 fps.

32 gbs ram
7800x3D
4070SuperTI

For reference I can run capcoms last Major Realease Resident Evil 4 at 60fps 4K Max settings. This game I cant get get 60fps 1440 Medium settings.

Also Lala Barina, Best monster

Trust me that game is going to flop bad and signal the end of ubisoft

Damn dude did you just have this game on the whole weekend? How are you already finished? You’re going to burnout in like a week from now and have it deleted from your storage lol. But yeah it’s considerably easier and it’s not just from experience. It really is easier. Smaller health pools, less damage to you, less aggressive imo. I think they just restructured the tiers to low rank essentially being easy , high rank to medium, and so forth. I think the updates and inevitable expansion will introduce the tough fights. Anyway I’m kind of glad it’s easy because I might be able to get the best items and put the game on hold for a while. A lot of stuff I’m looking forward to and Khazan First Berserker is out in 3 weeks so I’m hoping to beat this by then.
It's not long, Like at all. You're probably much closer to the end than you might think. Which monster did you fight last?

Over all i'm enjoying Wilds a lot but it hasn't yet topped World for me.

It's strange you know, World is kinda my first one and I did feel it was much harder than Rise or Wilds. I just remember early on in world getting filtered by Anjunath, Diablos and Nerg, Nothing felt that challenging in wilds, I think the most challenging monster was the flaming octopus, because most of his moves cover a wide area around it, I don't think I carted in Wilds until after I saw the credits.

1100+ hrs in World, so maybe it prepared me for rise which I also found to be easy. In rise, the Monsters are harder, but hunter is stronger and has better movement options; balancing out to still making it easier. In this game (wilds) the monsters kinda stand there and take it. They will often hit you with a big blow that deals 60% of your health but they don't follow up like world. Also In world I felt that I had to make specific armor sets in prep for some strong monsters like Kirin. (Stun resistance3+Thunder resistance5+Dragon Weapon) So far in wilds, I just do whatever to whomever without a second though. I hope there are a lot more monsters and they get a lot harder, but I've heard there are less than 40 monsters so that's not sounding too good. Need to add more soon.

Our experiences of Monster Hunter seem quite similar including in Wilds the octopus being a bit more of a challenge lol.

I think the biggest difficulty modifier seems be most of the monsters are slower than in World yet the player is still as nimble as before, hence the more generous damage opportunities. There are some exceptions who can be quite relentless and catch you with "true combos" but for the most part the monsters slower movement in general makes them more passive as a result.

I wasn't gonna comment on the length of the game up to the credits as i didn't want to give anything away to Zazen but like you said about World and build crafting, i just didn't feel the need to do that in Wilds as the necessity to do so isn't there. As a result i did hardly any farming and any optional hunts were done in minutes. So i went straight to endgame.

I'm glad i did just get through it as the game opens up much more now and feels more like what i expected Wilds to be.

Yeah post game things have seemed to improved, but Actually as far as the farming goes I was having such an easy time for a while I just said fuck it and put on gathering gear, Geologist, botanist, Etemologist, Just so everything I did Run past and pick up turned up double. I wasn't struggling in the fights, So I didn't bother specing toward being stronger.
