Minotauro has 3 TIMES more Top 10 Wins than Frank Mir

Mir took big nog's chin and arm and mounted them in his house.

Mir finished him twice. Not decisioned him but finished him. I get that you wanna compare their records and that's fine, but when they actually fought Frank was dominant.

All those top 10 wins and he couldn't beat Frank Mir.

big nog has had a better career than mir even though lost twice against him

their two fights were really odd, which is why there's so much debate about them. i'm convinced that if they fought again, nogueira would still have a very good chance at beating mir.

minotauro is a legend.

Mir got him at a GREAT time.

He would not have beaten a young Nogueira the way he did, if at all.

End of story.

Too much precedence is placed on "top 10 wins" which are subjective. I love how under the "only top ten wins matter" mantra, Nog gets full credit for beating Valentijn Overeem, Semmy Schilt, and Brendan Schaub, yet Mir receives no credit for subbing Brock Lesnar (who would win the title two fights later and defend it twice) or dominating Roy Nelson, both of whom were significantly better MMA fighters than any of the previous 3 I listed.

What does this have to do with a guy that starched him twice and would a third time if they fought again?

Hallman beat Hughes twice
Weidman beat Anderson twice
Mike Brown beat Faber twice.

It doesn't mean that they had better careers.

Big Nog has the better career, given he competed in the shark tank of Pride while Mir was fighting in a smaller circle. Still, Mir beat him twice so it's hard to rank Nog over him.

Frank Mir POUNDED NOG OUT, AND BROKE HIS ARM.

Nelson is one of Mir's 4 Career Top 10 wins. He gets credit for beating him. Nelson was ranked #10 at the time.

Brock was green and was 1-0 with a win over a can. When Brock got experience he crushed Mir. Brock wasn't even Top 50 when Mir beat him (with help from a ref)

Here are all of Mir's Career Top 10 wins

Nog
Nog
Nelson
Tim

That is all 4 of them. Dang...kind of reminds me of Dennis Hallman beating Hughes twice. Mir pretty much = Hallman.

Yes he did. It doesn't mean he had a better career though.

Otherwise

Hallman > Hughes
Weidman > Anderson
Brown > Faber

Hallman beat Hughes twice
Weidman beat Anderson twice
Mike Brown beat Faber twice.

Mir is better than Nog because he beat him. As for careers, Nog by a landslide, but does it matter?

Someone want to remind me what the hell was so special about Nog's career?

Is it simply because he had some success in Pride, and got his shit pushed in by Fedor? What has he really accomplished, that earns him this "legend" status? Good fighter for sure, but let's not pretend the man was unbeatable at any time in his career.

Not taking anything away from Big Nog, but Mir is the man! Hard to say what Mir would have done in Pride. With the injury and all.

What in gods name is wrong with you?

... but Mir finished knocked him out and submitted him.

"Better career" or not, that is what most people will remember.

Would love to see a third fight though.

HAHAHA! Are you serious? Nog (along with Fedor) by far have the most Top 10 Wins in HW history.

Nog has been fighting since the 90's and still is in the top 10. Even though he is past his prime he has shown incredible longevity in a sport in which most fighters burn out fast.

How many other guys that started in the 90's are still relevant? Henderson, Vitor, Wanderlei and Nog....that is about it.

I guess having the most Top 10 wins in HW history (along with Fedor) is not impressive to a badass like you.

I guess wins over guys like Barnett, Cro Cop (in his prime), Couture, Werdum, Sergei, Big Tim, Herring, Coleman etc mean nothing to you. He clearly has one of the best resumes in HW history
