Minotauro has 3 TIMES more Top 10 Wins than Frank Mir

Stop making excuses. Nog has always looked slow. In 2004 he was slow. In 2013 he was slow. When you comprehensively destroy a guy twice by strikes then sub and you've also been undisputed champion then you're just better than that guy - period.

I guess we can say that about Penn and Edgar too.

As well as about Penn and GSP.

I don't care who has the better resume, when two guys fight twice, and one man wins both fights in devastating fashion, we all know who was better.

You know who was better on that night.

That is fine as long as you don't conflate that totally with who is better in a historically sense.

Otherwise, you are forced to admit all sorts of strange things like Dennis Hallman being "better" than Matt Hughes, etc...

Sounds like excuses. Or Mir hating. Nog's time is up - I agree. But he fought Mir the first time 6 years ago when he was 30 years old. Big difference say between that and Anderson being 37/38 against Weidman.

I think Nog has been high level. Career v career against Mir he probably edges it. Mir's motorcycle accident really put him behind the 8 ball there. But Mir is a better head to head fighter than Nog. That's pretty much all there is to it.

He was 33 with 38 career fights at the time. Let's see how Mir is doing when he reaches 38 MMA fights. The age wasn't a big deal...It was the mileage.

Mir has lost 4 in a row and is no longer allowed to use TRT. Doubt he reaches that many fights.

how many times are we going to have this argument?

Nog fans gotta get over it

You need something better to do with your life.

Hahaha.

So a head to head match up. Or two for that matter are less relevant to establishing who's better than the rankings of all of their other opponents?

And styles make fights? This wasn't a wrestler holding down a striker. This was a guy starching one on the feet and then breaking his freaking arm when many argued that he was the best hw grappler of all time.

The Butt Hurt flows strong in you.

If Edgar finished BJ twice then sure. Even if he won two clear decisions there would be a case for saying that. As it is, that's not the case, is it? But we'll watch what is in essence a rubber match and if Edgar does to him again what he did in part 2, then yep - I'll say absolutely Edgar is better than BJ. Better period.

GSP is similar to in the sense that he won one fight clearly but with controversy and the other closely and somewhat disputedly. However be that as it may, I can accept that at WW, GSP is just too big and strong for BJ. GSP is one of the best ever but as a LW, BJ is not far behind GSP as a WW. If he beats Edgar then he has beaten every LW and lighter fighter he has ever faced. Given the fact he's a LW, then that puts him in goat territory.

But I digress.

Yeah he probably won't reach Jeremy Horn's mark either.

Doesn't matter - he's still better than Nog.

He is better than Nog right now. So are plenty of HWs.

It doesn't mean that Mir had a better career though.

If Nog fought Kongo twice he would probably lose twice to him too. Hell, I would favor Lavar Johnson over him too at this point of his career. Nog is way to slow and fights as stiff as a 2x4 nowadays

Better now. Not better all time. Pretty simple really.
