Minotauro has 3 TIMES more Top 10 Wins than Frank Mir

C'mon, are you really going to claim that Mir's losses when trying to come back from that motorcycle accident are just regular losses? I'm completely down with the idea that Nog's resume is more impressive, but that's just dumb.

The Freeman loss was before the accident. That was one of his worst losses.

The Vera loss was almost 2.5 years after the accident and was after a win.

Everybody talking about nog coming in slow with no head movement should go back and watch "prime" nog he was also quite slow and lacked head movement.

He moved around on his feet quite a bit better. Look at his fight with Sergei. His movement was noticeably better than anything he did in the UFC.

MYTH

Watch how fast he was in the Sergei fight in 2004. Seriously. He doesn't even look like the same guy.

He moves like a 2 X 4 now with his feet glued to the ground nowadays

Fight starts around the 9:00 mark

Bad quality but clearly you can see the difference.

Good point.

He should have emphasized that Cruz was hand-picked as an easy comeback opponent. He was a BJJ guy with no striking whatsoever, and he still knocked Mir the fuck out in the first round.

2 years after the accident.

I should have also mentioned that the Freeman loss Mir claimed to have jet lag (even though Mir says he hates excuses and makes them all the time)

Nog should honestly. He wasn't involved in a brutal motorcycles accident in the prime of his career.

Nog came in the fattest he ever had against Sylvia and everyone noted how bad and slow he looked against him. It was pretty obvious that a 240 pound Nog with 0 movement wasn't the same fighter who came in much, much leaner in his earlier fights and actually had some degree of footwork.

I know you weren't a fan back then so I won't fault you for not knowing that.

The fact that you post 10,000 times in 5 years doesn't mean you've been watching MMA longer than me fanboy.

It just means your a shut in.

Mir had 1 Top 10 win before his motorcycle accident and had lost to Ian Freeman.

Nog was run over by a truck as a kid and was in a coma. He has suffered vision loss, mutilple knee surgeries, a snapped arm (courtesy of Mir beating him) back injuries, a sciatic nerve contusion, is missing a rib and part of his liver etc.

Nog is a walking Frankenstein held together by tape

Big Nog had a better career than Frank Mur, duh. Frank Mir's career is underrated though.

It is not just Nog. This will happen to a lot of fighters every generation. They fight well, new guys come in and they start losing and fall off quick.

The sport evolves. Nog at his best in pride was probably better than Mir at that point in time. However, Frank continued to evolve while Nog apparently didn't.

BJ Penn, probably my favorite fighter, was an absolute terror a few years back since he had good boxing, power, jiu jitsu and take down defense. Nowadays, his skill set has become almost standard in the LW division.

It doesn't take away from the fact that at that point in time, BJ was one of the best fighters in the world and had a difficult combination of skills for opponents to deal with.

Yeah but if Mir didn't lose a major portion of his career to that motorcycle accident this argument might be a whole lot simpler.

You're right, Mir's the Greatest of All Time because he fell off his motorbike.

Mir lost to Ian Freeman before the accident and had 1 good win in his entire career up to that point.

Since you put it that way I guess those years could have swayed the argument in either direction.
