Nog is not UFC caliber (anymore). He had his moments, but the sport passed him by.
Same can be said about Mir though.Nog is not UFC caliber (anymore). He had his moments, but the sport passed him by.

I think Nog has had the better career overall but Mir has had the better UFC career.
Yes Nog by far had the better MMA career. Of course Mir had the better UFC career. Nog joined the UFC 10 years into his MMA career. Barely any MMA fighter stays elite for 10 years. Most have short shelf lives so it is amazing that Nog is still hanging around. Not many others from the 90's have.
I guess wins over guys like Barnett, Cro Cop (in his prime), Couture, Werdum, Sergei, Big Tim, Herring, Coleman etc mean nothing to you. He clearly has one of the best resumes in HW history
Totally different context. Hallman beat Hughes at the begining of his career. Nice try though.
The UFC now being mainstream and Mir beating Nog twice in devastating fashion is why people lean towards Mir.
Doesn't bother me either way how people see it. The fact that he is talked with Nog and compared to him is enough for me. Frank has always been my favorite HW. His recent string of 4 loses nearly killed me
Mir also beat Nog at the tail end of his career. Yes, he was still competitive but he moves nothing like did when he was in his prime at Pride.
Hughes was also a savage when the rematch happened so that was hardly at the beginning of his career.
Oh', so when Nog beats Couture and Herring it's a big fucking deal. When Brock does it, it means jack shit.
Coleman....Sergei.....not top 10, sorry.
Look, Nog's a veteran with some success, but he's mostly known for getting the piss beaten out of him, and pulling off some fluke subs. He's never been the top dog, and Frank Mir owns him. Meh.
It matters at what point of a fighter's career that he was beat. Beating Liddell (when Franklin did) would not be nearly as impressive if he beat him 3 years earlier for example.
Fighters have short shelf lives and don't stay on top forever.
4 x 4 = 13
Math Fail
When was Nog ever on top? Those few weeks after he beat Tim for the *ahem*, "interim" HW Championship, and before Randy came back to defend the real one. Was that the time?
Yet you felt the need to bring Couture into the equation......

How about from Nov. 3 2001 until March 16 2003?
learn history before you go spouting off in threads like this

Oh' so being champion of a pro-wrestling organization is a big deal?
