Miesha Tate

We are now over a month removed from Tate being completely mollywhopped in the main event of biggest MMA event of all time. Unless I missed it, I have heard nothing from her about it since that night. All props to Nunes and I had her winning but there was something amiss about Tate other than just getting caught and her nose broken. I am mainly talking about before she got caught as I realize that she had never been stung by punches as powerful as Amanda's. Her boyfriend said vertigo. Was that ever backed up? Why did she almost missing weigh ins?

To reiterate I am not taking anything away from The Lioness. In addition I am not questioning Tate's heart, skill, legitimacy... I have seen the ridiculous posts that the RNC was not under the chin. Tate was out on her feet before she collapsed to the canvass and ate hammer fists. It is a testament to her toughness and durability that she was not KOd. I had to look away when Nunes was teeing off of on her against the cage. Dean was close to stopping it.
And the courage of Tate to do post fight interview and then presser with her nose in towel. Wow. She is not a normal female, despite her femininity.
Another point...and I am not saying this was difference because it wasn't but was it ever conclusive if the illegal knee connected? Also is it illegal to throw a knee to a grounded opponent or to connect with said knee?

Good post. I'd been asking myself about the knee since the fight and never looked into it.

Also crazy low post count for such an old ass account!

Roided? And it is not a beauty contest but if it were she would do fine. Would love to see what your wives look like.

Maybe the roids part and the beauty part.. beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

What relevance has the way our wife's look to the conversation ?

You do understand that she is a public person so you automatically are opened to this kind of stuff it goes with the territory.

she had her Matt Serra moment. sad, she could have carried the sport/division for a bit longer similar to Rousey (to North American audience).

Try listening to her podcast #TheMieshaTateShow I'm sure she's dealt with it there.

She should probably go up to 145.

Really? You did not think she seemed lethargic and off? And almost missing weigh in?

There was a little sarcasm there. I did think she was a little off. But honestly. I chalked it up to her being champion now and changing attitude wise.. She struck me as a little cocky in the wrong way after winning the title, maybe a little over confident. I found it strange she almost missed weight. And the first shot she ate, the expression on her face so drastically changed.. She immediately looked defeated and afraid

Im just not really a fan of Tate's. Shes tough, and easy on the eyes, and shes not a terrible person...but her fights dont really excite me,generally. Savages like Ronda are much more exicting, win or lose.

I mean she bitched and moaned about getting passed over for a 3rd bout with Ronda, but really, did she looked like she improved all that much since then that made the 3rd fight more interesting than the 2nd one? The whole time Ronda is knocking bitches into the grave, and then up in that room with Jesus.

Her 15 minutes are up imo. Everything broke right for her being champ, getting passed for Tate rousey 3 saved her. Not having to take another fight. She'll lose to any top 5 fighter
Very possible but she was world champion and cashed checks that most of us take decades to make. Nothing but respect. Just wish she would have showed up at 200.

Tate is terrible against opponents that put the pressure on her. That's why she was able to survive against Holm and ultimately find the submission. Against fighters that get in her face she crumbles.
Holm did not pressure her because she is a counter puncher and was afraid of being taken down. Round 2 and 5. And no she is not terrible. She is one of best bantamweight in world.

Yea

Yeah, I find it difficult to deal with some of the absurdity on here. I will say that I have been pleasantly surprised by most of you on this thread. Very reasonable comments for Sherdog talking about female mma for the most part. Do you know, is it illegal to throw the knee or is it illegal when the knee makes contact?

I like the way a fighter like her can find ways to win despite not being great strikers or have great submissions. She is a grinder. The Holm fight really impressed me. But I hear what you are saying it is not as exciting. I am a DC fan too.

I did enjoy the Holm fight... I enjoy DC's fights alot more...the stakes are higher. The guys DC's fighting are trying to take his head off with heavy leather.

Agree fully with that. As I said I doubt she had ever been stung like that. Nunes hits like a man. But Tate did seem to be looking for a way out of the cage pretty quickly.

Yeah. I think she realized that moment, there was no winning the fight.

Of course it is open but it does not make it right. It is low brow discussion. I find it ironic that people on social media talk about a girl that looks like Miesha being unattractive when she makes most of their wives look like....

Yeah. I think she realized that moment, there was no winning the fight.
Very possible and I think possibly she thought that before she felt that power. The original intent of this post was looking for a possible explanation I had not heard or considered.

her bootie musk after the fight must have been amazing tho

It's possible she did.. Me personally I didn't think so, I thought she had an oh shit moment with that first punch and I thought that was a rude awakening, I honestly thought she might have been looknig past her for some reason. But its all possible. Whatever happened, she wasn't ready, almost missed weight, and well, obviously didn't hang around long. She didn't make any excuses though if she was hurt or sick during her camp. i'll give her credit for that. If that is why she struggled to hit weight, then, kudos for keeping it quiet
