I hope this guy is stopped, dead or alive, before he hurts anybody else. Looks like he just walked into a bowling alley and started capping people. As a firearms instructor, he's got the skills to do it. Absolutely horrifying. RIP to the victims. I'd be terrified if I was law enforcement searching for him.

Problems with this are restaurants are private property so whether or not guns can be present isn’t a “public carry issue” as well as it’s blatantly obvious if you’re in the process of operating a vehicle but not obvious if you’re concealed carrying so it’s nothing like the drinking and driving. how the fuck do you actually enforce this? Have cops patrol the inside of bars and restaurants and search folks who order drinks?

If the bar, or restaurant or any private business has a no weapons sign then that's their right. If they don't then it's controlled by having a law or not having a law.

They enforce it the same way they do every other law. As it is a lot of states already allow carry (concealed) n restaurants that serve alcohol but you are not allowed to drink. That is drink at all not drink but any alcohol at all.

And here we go. Over 20 people dead and 50 injured and the 3rd post is @skold immediately thinking "How can I make this about my political stances"?

Christ, dude. One thing everyone can agree on is this a tragedy and the only focus right now is the victims, their families and the evil piece of shit who did it. At least wait long enough for the bodies to be cold before you make this about you.


Can't even imagine being one of these people or their families right now. Just a horrendous incident. I go back and forth on death penalties, but people like this shouldn't be brought it in alive.

If someone has been committed to a mental health facility, and self-reports he is hearing voices telling him to shoot a place up, then I think there is sufficient cause to deprive that individual of his 2nd Amendment rights:

They talk about gun control every day almost in some political way all over thr country. Not as much about mental health but it should be talked about.

The left see this as a way to try and ban all guns and the carry of them.

If Maine voters after this want to make a bunch of gun laws after this then as long as they meet the constitution its thire right to.

The left wants federal laws on the way guns look and carry laws that stop almost all carry except for the police.

The Republicans talk about mental health care but don't do shit about it as far as funding. Before we help others we should be taking care of that.

If this guy made threats before it should have been reported and investigated. If it was verified he made them and was a threat because of his mental health a court order should have removed his guns and possibly have force committed him.

Americans have this odd obsession with guns. I can own a gun and I don't give two shits about the NRA or if other people can get access to them easily. I care about the wrong people getting access to it. It's not that hard to regulate the industry.

Politicians and media have an odd obsession with guns. Most of us were raised with guns and it's just a tool we use on a daily/weekly basis.

What? Those communities constantly ask for what they need to help combat inner city violence. Better schools, low cost daycare for ages 0-5, better paying job opportunities, pathways to home ownership, etc.
