This has to be the fight for both. There is literally no one else for either.

Only question now is assuming there isn't a trilogy for Ank and Alex, who gets the next shot between Jiri Rountree winner and Ulberg Reyes winner? It would make more sense if Alex won and they had a trilogy and winner of Jiri Rountree and Ulberg Reyes fought each other for the next shot.

Rakic is against Murzakanov so thats two more names off the list.

Reyes isn't beating Ulberg, but he deserves the fight after his last win.

I'd argue Ulberg should get a better booking after beating Jan and a long win streak but the division is shallow and there are few spots open. He's in a tough spot because the winner of Jiri x Rountree is fighting Ank next if Poatan loses again, and that is a likely outcome.

If Ulberg murders Reyes and Alex pull off the upset, I could see them getting matched in 2026.

Talk about hard competition. I missed Ulberg's rise but I just watched his fights and he is really fucking good. Damn, I have no idea who I would pick on this one. Dom technically beat Jones and the way he won his last fight is identical to Ulberg's best method of attack. Its going to be a clash of the left check hooks

If Ulbreg wins there is no one else for him to fight other than the champ or the loser of the title rematch

It would be such a heartwarming story if Dominic Reyes somehow managed to work his way back to the title he had robbed from him.

I was already thinking of this pairing. I would hope Reyes/Ulberg winner will be next up Jiri is almost at the Gane level of title shots with short win streaks, and Roundtree not too long ago fought for the belt I rather Tree/Jiri winner fight the loser of the title fight while Ulberg/Reyes faces the winner.

No need to fear, a trilogy, that will not happen at all.

Def the fight to make and could see it being on that Perth fight night, maybe main event? That or a Hooker fight. if Ank beats Alex again you can look at Rountree/Jiri winner as a fresh fight. If Alex wins and they dont do the trilogy then Ulberg/Reyes winner is an option.

It would be a great story if Reyes somehow became champ. I think I'm pretty objective about judges decisions, I thought Reyes was the only 1 who deserved the W over Jones, I think Jones did enough in his other close fights (Gus 1 & Santos). So Reyes, if he had gotten the nod over Jones, maybe his career turns out completely different. At the very least, he would've always been remembered as the guy who beat Jones & he would've been a UFC champ (DQ loss doesn't count). Instead, his career went completely off the rails

I hope so, it'd be a fire matchup. I think I'd favor Reyes, but both are in really good form as late. It's not a ME, but a solid fight on any card, for sure.
