Vettori landed more significant strikes. Izzy landed predominantly leg kicks, a few jabs, and a couple decent body kicks but Vettori landed shots everywhere and even controlled him briefly in the clinch (missed TDs i know). -Whittaker is definitely a solid win (Dumbass strategy by whittaker and dealing with depression/suicide thoughts)

Costa may be one dimensional, but he was better ranked than Vettori.

I don’t agree with your whole post, but I do agree that Izzy’s kickboxing credentials are a bit embellished. He’s the best kickboxer in MMA right now, but he doesn’t have as good a perigee as Overeem or Cro Cop when it comes to wins.

It may not be impressive, but good enough to become a UFC champion. I think it says more about the UFC than the "NZ HW cans."

Costa losing to Robby doesn't invalidate how good of a win he is and how Izzy beat him. It just means Robby is that good, which elevates him even more and makes the Izzy win look even greater. I'm not looking to shit on any of these guys at all. This is a ridiculously tough sport.

Any of these guys could lose to each other on any given night and at 185, Izzy racked up win after win there. Izzy has shown great TDD at 185. Jan is much bigger than him and that size helped with the takedowns. It still isn't easy to Izzy on the ground in his weight class.

I mean IMO I don’t see Rob beating Izzy any time soon. Because Rob doesn’t have the size or reach of Jan and though he has good wrestling for an Aussie, I don’t know if he can bully Izzy around like Jan could.
