To be fair, though, Serling isn't your average citizen circa 1959. Guy was, as far as I'm concerned, a genius. Selling drugs and killing people arent the same. I mean. Why WOULD your work a back breaking job instead of enriching yourself? That is REAL dumb. Unless you get some sort of reward for working a back breaking job, why do that.

I've watched the people around me struggle to figure out things and make bad decisions over and over their entire lives. And I feel sorry for them. And then I feel grateful for being born smart enough to figure things out. My life is so much easier because of it.

Sometimes I think about how there must be people who are way smarter than me and they probably pity me because I struggle with things that are easy to them.

Yeah but thats a little different. Im talking about reproducing, in the above scenario the 'dumb' person is More attractive than the 'smart' person, from a provider standpoint, from age 19 until whenever the 'smart' person finds an extremely high paying job.

Barring injury the dumb person can keep working in a factory or machine shop basically forever. The smart person has to pay off their debts, and is arguably more restricted in where they can work. Obviously IGNORING the million other factors and just focusing on income, the big dumb person can make more money at least until age 35 or so when the smart person gets promoted to a high level position. And that is a BIG if.

Obviously a smart person invests their money better than a dumb person. But i think it really is more complicated than that.

This isn't really a dumb vs smart person argument, its more that if office jobs pay say 15-25% less relatively versus a few decades ago and the dumb person job stays the same, is the office job better if you're 50,000 dollars in debt to make 50k a year?

Tldr college is so expensive working in a factory is a better option for people who arent geniuses

No one intentionally "does" fent. All the illegal drugs are cut with fent. No one "does" fent and if they do thats not why so many people dying. Its people getting illegal weed or cocaine from dealer who got it from supplier who cut it.

In the 1950s tv was prestigious and limited to appear on. A child representing Japan so close to the war would have to be the crem de la crem. Before 1940 shakesphearean acting was still normal and there was a high standard for how people behaved. Similiar to how in the 1970s people dressed up to fly on planes but didnt act like that normally. How many other demented presidents did the US have? He is the prime example. Also Harris in interviews really shows how dumb she is. If you want well versed in communication you need to go back to Clinton and Obama. Pretty sure you can post pro liberal stuff and dont get problems.

Regarding Trump I thought he was a dumbo but had to change my mind. He is extremely quick whitted, intelligent and insightful to a point it really surprised me as I did not expect that being hidden behind his sometimes annoying way of speaking. He outsmarted Hillary (who is quite clever) and exposed here without any problems. Thats not easy.

To counter your "pro conservative" tendency. George Bush Jr was the most well reduced in intelligence president before Biden. Imo with Biden I dont get why the left didnt scream about his presidency. I think. Whats really happening is. Dumb oeople are getting dumber and smart are getting smarter.

Lets face it. If you work in a machine shop or do construction do you NEED To be smart? I dont think as much as you think to make a LOT of money. Ive met people who are basically illiterate, who happened to be born with huge muscles, who make 100k because they have a strong skeleton and can work 16 hour shifts back to back. That is a VALUABLE skill. You think the average office worker can do that? No.

Being book smart is NOT attractive to women. Nerds DO NOT get tons of ass, thats kind of like the stereotype. Athletes frat boys and trust fund babies get ass. Nerds have to go to WORK and PAY FOR IT.

Option 1: go to school. Spend 18 years more or less studying. Go to an above average school. Get a decent acholarship. If you are lucky, You will graduate with 50k debt at 11% interest and have to compete with the entire world for a job that pays 50k. Pay high rent because office jobs are in the high rent areas.

Option 2: be born big and dumb. Take steroids at age 16. Get a job in machine shop at age 19. Drink energy drinks every day and work 80 hours a week. Make 90k a year. Have a million job offers. At age 25 you have made 500k and no debt.

I think, it is simple economics. Lets face it, if you're regular smart or above average smart you aint getting a 300k job at google. Those people are born that smart. If you're LUCKY being smart will land you in HUGE amounts of debt that will take DECADES to pay off. If youre lucky.

Working in a machine shop didnt mean being machinist. Factory, machine shop. Some grunt work
Its actually harder to be a machinist than doing some grunt work for less $/hour but more hours that takes less brain power

$27/hr * 40 = $1,080 ($27/hr seems like a good example for a machinist or entry to mid level office worker anywhere but high COL areas) less taxes lets say $850

$16/hr * 40 + $24/hr * 20 = $1,120 less taxes lets say $900

The comparatively less skilled worker can earn more per week. Or at least so similar its negligible. As long as they can handle the workload. As long as they can work super long shifts. Your life isnt gonna be great.

But strictly financially it might make sense because you dont have to spend 4 years earning effectively $0 obtaining a degree. Yes if youre working in school you have income but not a lot. It all goes away. Unless you have no social life and dont plan on obtaining a difficult degree. At that point just go to a factory; same thing. Half the point of college is to socialize and increase your earning potential.

School only makes sense of you end up making like $90-110k and everything else clicks
