LET'S COMPARE (Alex "Poatan" Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev)

Lol bringing up how many champions Pereira has beaten like it matters at all for a head to head matchup.

Charles Oliveira had beaten 3 interim champions before he fought Islam Makhachev. How much did that matter in the end?

wouldn't be surprised if Poatan uses his devastating calf kicks against Magomed, whom struggled heavily when Jan did that to him before he turned the favour by getting him to the ground.

ppl dont seem to point out despite his adept footwork, Poatan stands very tall and closer than shoulder width, that is prime picking for wrestlers like Ankalaev.

If Anklaev was clean shaven and named Joe Smith, not one person would be talking about him. He’s an unimpressive kickboxer who’s made out to be a LHW Khabib because of his beard and name, despite not showing any of it through his entire ufc run. He’s a kickboxer guys.. and a lame one.
He is 19-1-1 and in a 13 fight unbeaten streak. He is very, very obviously the #1 contender.

Miscreants claim Pereira "is ducking" Ankalaev.
The truth is Magomed = the one ducking Alex.

Alex has agreed to meet Magomed, twice now; Magomed has declined twice now.

SOME INTANGIBLES:
Alex has charisma, momentum, power, style ...
Ankalaev has none of these things..

ACTUAL FACTS:
Alex Pereira UFC Stats = 10 UFC Fights (9 wins, 8 finishes) - 90% Wins, 80% Finishes.
Magomed Ank UFC Stats = 14 UFC Fights (11 wins, 6 finishes) - 79% Wins, 43% Finishes)

IMPORTANT DETAILS:
Alex Pereira has faced/defeated 5 CURRENT/FORMER UFC CHAMPIONS.
Magomed Ankalaev has faced/defeated 0 CURRENT/FORMER UFC Champions.

Assess and scramble these details and facts to form whatever "picture" you wish regarding "who is who."

I think the only assessment that matters is that Ank has earned a title shot.

I’m not disagreeing there but he hasn’t been impressive nor is he the goat wrestler some seem to think. I wish he’d just shut up and take a fight so we can get it over with.

Earned? How?

By beating Johnny Walker, whom everyone KOs?

Or by beating Aleksandar Rakić, on points, the same guy who was KO'd in 3 by Jan Błachowicz, and then KO'd in 2 by Procházka (both of whom lost Pereira, the latter twice by KO in 2)?

IMO, that is not how any LHW "earns" a title shot.

By being on a 13-fight unbeaten streak with wins over 3 former title challengers and a draw with a former champion.

He is very, very obviously the #1 contender. Poatan fans seem a little bit scared TBH.

Right, instead LHWs "earn" shots by:
-Eeeking out 1 win at LHW (like Alex did)
-Beating Rakic to get an undeserved rematch (like Jiri did)
-Beating Walker and Santos (like Hill did)
-Beating.....Anthony Smith like Khalil did. LOL. Let's hear you defend that one.

The reality is Ankalaev has done....literally all of the above, except with a MUCH longer streak of not losing than any of those guys.

No one is buying your gimmick. If you are serious, you might be one of the most delusional fanboys ever.

Being "sloppy seconds" (thirds, fouths) against multi-beaten fighters — and doing a worse job than previous opponents — doesn't earn anyone shit.

I think Jiří Procházka is a more worthy #1 contender than Ankalaev.

Jiří Procházka was also on a 13-fight unbeaten streak, except the difference is Procházka had 12 finishes in those 13 fights (twice as many finishes as Ankalaev's 6) — and he decimated Rakić before Ank, whereas Ankalaev barely squeaked by an already-destroyed Rakić.

The only UFC fighter Procházka has lost to has been Poatan ....

Laughable that you think anyone is "scared" of an Ankalaev fight. It's the fight I'd like to see Alex do most, just to shut people up.

Just because I'm arguing that Ankalaev hasn't really done shit to "earn" a title fight (compared Procházka, Błachowicz, etc.) Doesn't mean I don't want that fight to happen.

It's the #1 fight I want to see happen, except perhaps Pereira versus Jones or Jones versus Aspinall.

I think it's important to note that "beating former champs" is misleading since he beat DeSean before he was champ.

Ah right, like Khalil beating Smith AFTER Magomed already beat him.

And Hill beating Santos AFTER Magomed beat him.

Both got a title shot.

<lol> <lol> <lol> <lol>

No mental gymnastics will change the simple fact that Magomed has a more deserved title shot than any LHW contender in literally YEARS.

Lmao, Poatan fans not even hiding how terrified they are of him fighting Ankalaev at this point.

"Earned". Did you keep the same energy when Pereira got his MW title shot with a single ranked win? Or when Khalil Rountree earned his LHW title shot off beating Anthony Smith coming off the couch?

Also lol @ saying Rakic was "KO'd in 3 by Jan Blachowicz", he lost that fight due to injury. That's like saying Uriah Hall knocked out Chris Weidman in under 20 seconds.

Pretty colors.

Ankalaev Grappling Stats:

1 TD per fight on average, 30% TD accuracy <lol>
2/10 against Jan.
1/4 against mighty wrestler Volkan Oezdimir.
1/2 against post-exploded-knees Thiago Santos.
1/3 against Klidson Abreu (who???)
1/3 against Dalcha Lungiambula (literally who?)
Got taken down by Paul Craig twice, then submitted.

Ankalaev is going to try to stand and bang with Alex and get KTFO

Jan is a further undisputed LHW champ that dominated the Alex's arch nemesis Izzy.
Ank got a draw against Jan when he should've actually won.
