Media Khamzat downplay's Dricus weird fighting style "Weird style don't matter when you are on the ground"

Khamzat needs to fight with the same style that got him to the dance. I’m curious to see if he blitzes DDP like he did Robert.

It's gonna matter rd 2 buddeh!

I guess, that is the difference of narrative. Khamzat and his followers think it would be a wrestling fight and won't be a standing fight that would go to round 2. It would look like how it did with Whittaker. Khamzat just takes Dricus down and then Dricus is never able to recover. He also made the same statement on his youtube channel where he himself called it 'inevitable'. It was a photoshopped picture of Dricus instead of Whittaker where Khamzat is landing big shots on Dricus and Dricus is helplessly trying to shield his face with his hands.

However, us who are favoring Dricus feel, Dricus will be able to weather the storm and then Dricus will be able to bring the fight where he wants to and then Khamzat will need to adapt his gameplan.

Let's see which one comes true.

If he can take DDP down and keep the fight on the ground the whole time, he's right. But if he gets tired, can't finish DDP, and ends up being forced to strike, it's gonna matter a lot.

Agreed. There is a huge assumption everywhere that the fight is going to be entirely rolling on the ground. The Whittaker fight is a huge factor in how people are perceiving this simply because Whittaker took Dricus down. Hence, Dricus must be super easy for Khamzat to take down.

This is pretty much this entire fight in a nutshell.

I think Khamzat is all over him for maybe a round and a half, and that's his window to win.

Beyond that I think Dricus drowns him and stops him.

Usman was piecing him up in the third round of their fight, and Chimiev was gassed, after mauling him in the first round and a half.

Khamzat won the third round and took Usman down 14 mins into the fight. Usman has far, FAR better takedown defense than DDP, and at the very end of round 3, Khamzat took him down. This idea that Khamzat can’t win after 7 mins when he won both round 3’s against Burns and Usman is silly. Also, DDP gets tired by round 2, he just wills his way into fighting on, but isn’t exactly the energizer bunny either. Let’s see his cardio after being backpacked for 2 rounds and being punched in the face and fighting off sub attempts.

Looking at the facts no one can deny. We are talking an Usman who had no knees, was knocking the door of the 40s and well past his prime, 10 day notice, no fight camp and game plan as well as someone who is a true welterweight. It was still a majority decision rather than a unanimous decision with some thinking Usman won the round 2 and 3. The first 10-8 was the main reason Khamzat won.

Dricus has absolutely zero parallels with Usman.

If that is what helps Khamzat and his fans sleep better at night, so be it.
