Exactly. I'm guessing the UFC intends to make Amanda Kayla's launchpad. Kayla has already drawn a lot of attention to herself before coming in and Amanda is close to retirement, but still the biggest draw in WMMA. It would be a bigger fight if she didn't lose to Pena, but also good in the sense of Kayla not fighting a can in her debut. Either way, it's the fight to make, before Amanda loses again.

I wonder what UFC does. It seems like they intend to do Nunes/Pena. Either they pay Nunes a ton of money to try to make a star out of Harrison. Or, they sacrifice Holly to Harrison to give her a name before fighting Nunes no matter what happens in the Pena fight.

This is a big signing for WMMA if it's true.

Wonder how the UFC pulls it off as she said on the MMA Hour she doesn't want to be miserable cutting weight to 145 multiple times a year.

They'll just do what they did with Cyborg. They'll create a weight class just for her with like three girls in it and in the meantime will feed her beefed up flyweights.

Weight aside though, this is a big signing on the WMMA side. Best female MMA fighter not currently with the UFC imo.

It's been like 5 hours, if this was actually confirmed there'd probably be something from someone with a bit more credibility in breaking stories. I speculated earlier that this was part of the reason why Nunes might be leaving ATT, but it's just speculation. I suspect Daukaus is making the same deduction I did earlier.

I'll think there's a chance she signs with Bellator until she doesn't because there's a logical case but IMO signs point to her going to the UFC.

Who is she going to fight? 145 is a dead division, and she's pretty big even for 145 (which means horrible cuts for her) unless she drops weight(she likely isn't). Nunes will abandon 145 before fighting her....so...?
