Has Kayla Harrison been tested with fast punches?

I think the only real question here is whether Amanda still has it.

Anything can happen in MMA but I don't tink Nunez will be held down. If not held down, then they're in Lioness territory.

lol She didn't do shit with the smaller Shevchenko

Nor did Bullet land a single TD despite that being what many thought was her key to victory. Kayla also doesn't have Bullet's striking ability to fall back on if she can't ground Amanda. We're not even talking about whether or not Nunes can take down Kayla... it's the reverse... so your point doesn't make sense to me.

Nunes' sinus surgery excuse aside, that close decision was decided almost entirely on striking. So that haz zero to do with an analysis of this wrestling heavy fight in my mind. Bullet's not on the grappling level of Kayla, nor has the physical mass of kayla. That's where this conversation is taking place. I don't think anyone speculates Kayla will outstrike Lioness. This will be a completely different fight than Bullet's.

If Nunes pullz it off, I'd love to see her stick around & defend against Bullet so that we can get some closure on their controversial split decision.

I get what you're saying, but it's a win in a bigger way for Kayla though.

Kayla needs someone like Nunes for her legacy. Without a win over Nunes, she's not going to be remembered. Like, who has she beat so far? And more importantly, going forward, who can she beat in the next 3 or so years before she retires?

There just isn't any names at BW with a name anymore. Dumont and Yana are the two girls towards the top of the rankings who are streaking right now and that's it. Even dominating both of them won't make much noise for Kayla.
The only notable names on Kayla's resume are Holly and Larissa, maybe that Mohkatina lady too. Holly is an OK win but you're otherwise spot on. Kayla beating Amanda would be a great feather in her cap.
The only other name that would mean something would be Pennington, currently. Women's BW is really the pits right now. I wouldn't be surprised if they fast tracked Tate to a TS if she got a win in her next fight.

I do have to say that Kayla showed a decent chin against Larissa because Larissa hits pretty hard, but as hard as Amanda? I don't know.

The issue with Holly is that she was washed. If you're struggling with girls like Larissa and not really getting much done against Ketlen in the clinch, you're probably not beating Prime Holly.

And yeh, Larissa and Mohk are good names. Not really sure if many people even know who Mohk is though lol. The shit thing about Larissa is that her final fight with her was a loss. It doesn't look amazing there.

You're right that Pennington is the only other name right now, which is sad haha.

Fast tracking Tate to a title shot would be wild. She hasn't put 2 wins together in 9 years and is coming off a loss. Her only 2 wins in 9 years are Avila who I think retired 1 fight later and barely fought much anyway, and Marion, who was retiring that fight.

I don't even think the UFC could get behind Tate lol. Would be sad if that's all they have at BW right now that's worth anything haha.

As for Kayla's chin against Larissa, I think a lot of it had to do with Larissa not really being able to land many good strikes until later in the fight once. By that point her punches had less power. She spent the first couple of rounds just trying to survive the grappling.

I reckon Amanda probably hits harder, or at least she used to. Who knows where Amanda is at now. I think coming back will be a mistake. Don't think we'll see anywhere near the old Prime Nunes.

Im just critizicing that meme where Shevchenko is assasinated. Nunes was scared lol. She just outpointed her, according to judges

That's actually what I hate about this fight. If Amanda loses well she wasn't in her prime anymore, took to much time off, etc. If she wins well then there's no excuses and Amanda is the GOAT. This fight is kind of a lose lose situation for Kayla in a lot of ways.
Not really.

A win solidifies her as an all time great. Pad the resume with more wmma soccer moms.

A loss just shows the greatness of Amanda.

I more remember she just gassed out trying to wrestle Larissa for 5 rounds and sorta just lost from strikes Larissa was landing in the grappling.
And I dont remember the girl she lost to having fast striking either. I remember her as sorta a plodding striker. Only saw the fight once though when it happened which was a while ago

Well it's clear that, win or loss, Nunes isn't in her prime years anymore. She's 37 and comes from 2 years of inactivity.

Ah... gotcha, & you were right to do so~ That was definitely over the top for a controversial split decision. I actually made that for a shoop contest & the idea didn't occur to me at teh time to give bullet a different interpretation due to the close nature of their fight. Many people thought Nunes was gifted teh decision... perhaps Bullet holding a wrapped present... lol... (fook me, now I gotta do that.)

I took teh blood stain off Bullet's face & teh wall behind her too, & put some color into her face. Probably could've made teh present flow better, but we're just fooking around here. lol

If Nunes gets through Kayla, I think that unsettled business can & SHOULD happen again!!!

I still can't believe if Amanda Nunes strikes from the beginning, how can Kayla take her down and do armbar easily? Kayla has to go through her punches. It can be a 1 minute knock out. See how the Cris Cyborg vs Amanda Nunes fight went. And it's not like Amanda Nunes has a zero ground game.

Kayla has seen #PowerSlap live; she knows what can happen if your defense prep is suboptimal.

I believe this fear will force Our #MuscleMommy to show up in the best form of her career and force the Lioness into submission.
