Jon's "Legacy" will progress thru the following stages in my estimation:


Initial retirement, depending on the Aspinall situation will be mixed. You will have some media singing his praises, his 17 title wins, 2 weight, resume...


Then, the more hater based dialogue will dominate, he couldn't finish anyone decent the 2nd half of his career,wasn't the same without steroids, should have lost to Reyes, ducked Tom and francis... PED test failures , out of octagon drama

Finally in time there will, as is ALWAYS be the case, come a time where the "wikipedia" page becomes the story.

And that is going to read 17 consecutive UFC title wins.

And it will do so in a time where 5 consecutive title wins is not that common and 10 is unheard of.

He will be seen as the goat of this era. ** Asterisks for those who know. 17 straight title wins whether you like ot or not


** and fans will argue that some guy we currently haven't yet heard of is actually the goat because 10 wins in 2030 is better than 17 in 2011-2024.

nothing that you said, at all, has ANYTHING to do with his resume aging. which is the topic of this converation, not how goated he is. I completely understand and endorse anyone who wants to wants to bar him from the list. but legacy is again, cemented and is not aging or chaging or deteriorating in anyway. that is pure bullshit.
