Jones has been ducking Tom since 2023 and Tom is tarnishing Jon's aura badly at this point

What are you smoking and can you share some?

Jon won the HW title in March of 23 then was contracted to fight Stipe.
Shouldn't have been though. Completely cherry picked title defense when we had a top contender.

Due to injury the UFC setup an interim bought for the HW title with Gane and Tom.
The fight had a backup, the top contender we mentioned, but the cherry picked challenger backed out.

Tom isn't as great as everyone is making him out to be and if Jon beats him everyone will be saying that exact thing.
Nah, it'll be pretty well regarded as the most dangerous opponent he's fought, certainly at HW, if not his career, short of maybe Cormier.

If Tom does beat Jon then people will say Jon was over the hill past his prime.
Guess Jon should retire then if he's past his prime. I mean, he's holding the championship, so you'd think he's not washed.

Jon and Tom don't make the fights the UFC does,
Aaaand?

and they agree to the contracts.
There you go

For all you know the UFC is offering Jon 20 million to fight and Jon is turning it down or maybe the UFC is offering 1 million and Jon wants 5....
What I DO know is that Jon fought Gane and Stipe for  some number, and all things considered, agreed to that number pretty easily, and what I highly doubt is that they decided to offer Jon a lot less money for this one. Was Jon more than happy to have defended against Stipe for only 1 million?

Are people actually arguing FOR Jon's position here? He absolutely has no position left, I mean seriously.

If you want to make excuses for the whole Stipe debacle, OK, it's bull, but OK.

However, how long ago was that fight over with? We were supposedly going to tolerate that fight to get an answer on what would happen with the HW division, right? Jones is still dilly dallying around and hasn't moved on or signed the fight with Tom?

We are STILL being drug around to this day not knowing what will happen with the HW division. It was time to shit or get off the pot LONG AGO, like MONTHS AGO.

Enough already.

My position on Jon's position is he can do whatever he wants. It's not his job to book fights or draw up contracts.

If Jon is holding out for money, good for him! This is prizefighting and everyone should be chasing the biggest prize. Dana/Hunter could easily tell him to kick rocks and make an undisputed HW title fight with Tom, but that hasn't happened yet.

The people who were going to care about Jones' antics bailed a long time ago. There's no aura left to tarnish. He's a known piece of shit. You care or you don't.

You are right that the UFC is equally ridiculous for not having moved on by now.

The really sad part is it may not be a situation Jon ever really thought he would end up fighting in; he probably knew it would be a longshot to get the kind of money he was shooting for.

That's the reason he has never really broached the subject in any serious way in the media and has been seen actively avoiding interviews where he would be asked about it. He's not REALLY serious about it.

But that just means Jones and the UFC are both a joke. It doesn't make Jon look like any less of a shyster.

lol half the people are even questioning if he's GOAT now because of peds good luck with that the UFC's Jones post Aspinall duck smear campaign hasn't even started yet

IF he fights and beats Tom then we're talking, but the UFC and media will rake him through the coals otherwise

You really believe Jones' legacy relies on Tom Aspinall? That's gotta be a joke.

jon jones isnt ONE of the greatest of all time HE IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME...
NO IF ANDS OR BUTS, And i put my life on that. THERE IS NO DEBATE. ZERO NONE NADDA.

Yall are desperate now ... shits getting real.. hes about to walk off in the sunset without a legit blemish... a dude with a lanky Basketball body frame just came into your underground fight club sport and DOMINATED FOR OVER A DECADE. How could this be you say to yourselves... aint no way so now yall just throwing anything to see what sticks. making up narratives. i aint forget what you fans did to Francis now yall back doing the same thing to jon jones..... its pretty obvious whose the real mastermind behind this thats causing the delay.. this man did it to aljo cyborg Henry and anyone who wanted to get paid/ treated equally... but i get it.. yall have to help Daddy dana keep certain fighters in Line..
Can’t both Dana and Jon be part of the problem?

how does it know that jones was snorting cocaine partying living like a mad man banging hookers, getting in trouble, head butting cop cars, going to prison, dealing with the death of his Mother, fighting his wife, taking long breaks AND STILL THE MOTHER PHUCKIN CHAMP AND HAS BEEN FOR OVER 14 YEARS BRO. thats just Based destiny bro.. Deal with it... hes the chosen one
Those are some great accomplishments especially beating up his girlfriend in front of the kids

Jon is one of the greatest of all time, but if you consider his cheating, the fact that he could easily be 25-4 it the decisions didn't go his way against Gus, Reyes and Santos, the fact that the last 5 years of his career the focus from fans has been on him NOT fighting the best like Ngannou, but worse yet Tom who is making him look terrrible.

The UFC will throw him under a bus soon enough. Dana has already stopped glazing him. Many fans and MMA personalities are questioning his legitimacy because of drugs and ducking not only the champ, but defending the interim champ since 2023.

Making himself look so scared to unify the title for his last UFC fight against Tom since 2023... Jon needs to take this fight and win and I do believe he has a good chance,

but the UFC and MMA world in general will throw him under a bus if he doesn't,

and that's a fact.

You skew a few things here to support your opinion. First, he wouldn't be 25-4, if he lost to Santos, he wouldn't fight Reyes. And if he lost to Gus, he may have not fought Santos years later. Not everything would have fallen into place like that.

And he agreed to fight Ngnannou after agreeing to new terms of his contract for UFC285. Francis was the one who declined his contract offer and left the UFC.

The Tom scenario, we'll have to see how that plays out as he's in talks right now for that fight. If doesn't take the Tom fight, it will be the biggest duck in the history of the sport.

I think they're holding out for this weekend to see what happens with Perreira. You may have Jon drop the HW belt and go down to LHW to fight for the title. Or they may pull the ultimate BS move and have Perreira move up. A move that would be great if Tom wasn't in the picture.

Or they're just negotiating or just waiting to announce the fight at the right time. Who knows.

I doubt Jones is moving down at this point, I reckon he wants Pereira at HW, if he beats Ankalaev I think that's what we see, and then we'll see JJ win relatively easily by sub.

The way Dana described it was that they "may have to move on" from Jones, so I have my doubts it will be anything to do with Alex. I don't think they want to risk Alex losing to a guy that's about to retire. It's all speculation though, we will find out soon enough.

I seriously doubt they are going to let Jon and Alex fight at HW unless he drops the belt.

Yah, I think you're correct here. I didn't see Dana saying that. But if that is the case, it's quite simple. No matter what money, Jon just doesn't want to risk his legacy to fight Tom.

More than likely they would have Alex move up, that is the more marketable fight and scenario for Alex. The only thing is they need to get around Tom somehow.

If they take the route, they will just say that Jon wanted to bigger name and fight and that's his retirement fight.

If he's really the sociopath everything thinks he is, he won't care about criticism or the "MMA world coming down on him."
He beat the mother of his children in front of his children, 2 daughters under the age of 10. The guy is clearly a sociopath. Not sure what else he has to do to lose ALL of his fans. Maybe turn his violence TOWARDS his children? If he hasn't already. Dude is pond scum and his fans suck

This near-fatal thrashing that everyone clutches their pearls about doesn't seem to match the misdemeanor DV charge Jon got that was later dropped.

That's what happens when the women doesn't press charges (because she's scared of what to happen to her)

Don't forget, the only reason we heard about this indecent is because she accidentally locked herself out of the room.

we know that media companies have an army of bots and even people they pay to post on forums and comment sections to shill for them, push theirnarrative, & damage control issues. Anybody doing that for jon around here must be paid off or they are trying to land 1 of those shill jobs... especially given his history of steroid cheating and tom ducking. It's a bad look for the UFC and they know it so they send in their shill army to places like this
