the idea that stipe was still ranked number 2 after getting round 1 shadow realmed and then sat around for nearly 3 years but maintained his rank was comical. DId any non biased rankings have stipe at number 2 after going 0-1 over the span of 3 years? THe UFC kept him in the ranks just to justify the elder abuse matchup. If it was not for the UFC sucking jon's balls they would have removed stipe from the rankings for inactivity.

It sure looks (for now) like he's ducking Tom. And there are some very solid reasons WHY he's ducking Tom (assuming he's not just holding out for every last dollar and does plan on fighting Tom).
Jones isn't a natural HW. He's a big LHW with a beer gut that's talented enough to still beat most HW's. He's 38, and looked like a slow motion version of the guy I remember that threw Vlad Matsushenko like a child or choked Lyoto Machida out cold standing. And this slow motion version doesn't match up well with a younger, bigger, faster guy that's actually a natural HW and hits both with precision and power.
