Jones admitted to having poor endurance from powerlifting and weighing 220 lbs.

He should call the CEO of EPO for some advice on endurance

yet from the knee down he is still a 135er
Genetics, he can't do much about it. There was a bodybuilder back in 2000s named Johnny O. Jackson who had the entire Mendeleev's periodic table in him and, arguably, a better back and biceps than Ronnie Coleman

but his high insertion calves just wouldn't grow (a pic from later from his career, which emphasizes what parts were holding together)

For reference, here's his friend, Branch Warren, who had excellent leg development:

It is what it is, man. Your genetics. No amount of roids could help Jones. Much less natty lifting.

thers a guy named mike dolce, he has a diet system called the dolce diet , he should try it might make him a better fighter <JonesDXSuckIt><mma4><mma4><mma4>

He is just as tall and might not be that different frame wise from the HW's, but Arlovski isnt a huge HW, we need a picture next to Francis, jones is famous for his skinny legs.

Heavyweight torso, lightweight legs.

His legs are skinny but he's a far cry from being a natural LHW like the OP I quoted. He was definitely 225+ lbs and shredded at LHW at his peak.

He isn’t even a big Light-Heavyweight by today’s standards, Rakic is bigger and Magomed, Walker, Spann, Jiri are all roughly the same size.

Jones is the best fighter I’ve ever seen but I have a feeling his hw run is gonna be pretty short lived

Funny how I've heard people say he's a weight and height bully. He's a natural LHW with skinny limbs and looks overweight at HW

I trained with Jon at Jacksonwink and he's the farthest thing from a natural lhw. I weighed 185 and it felt like being next to a literal giant

He doesn't have the frame or bone structure to carry the weight effectively. Adding mass in one thing, translating it into atheltic ability is another.

Maybe he made changes in the way he bulks up so that his endurance doesn't have the same negative impact it did previously
This, he realized he was too focused on size/muscle and just heavy weights. That's good for overall strength but it isn't sustainable. It's like sprints compared to marathons. He seems to be focused on building mass with muscle and cardio endurance - and not just pure strength now.

Heavy lifts are usually really heavy weights for 2-3 reps. If you think about fighting, being able to do something 2-3 times only doesn't transfer over well to fight conditioning. That's why that type of training usually leaves those type of fighters with a slower pace with cardio/conditioning issues. You fight like you train, if you train for slow, minimal movements, you will fight the same way.

He weighed 240 in the pic I posted and looked shredded and healthy. By comparison, Stipe weighed 230 in his last fight.
He was just fatter/fuller in the pic you posted, he didn’t have much if any more muscle than the pic where he’s 225 and shredded… also like I said, in that picture the lighting is really good and he’s at an angle, and he has a pump… I’ve seen other pictures from the same day where it’s easier to see he’s just a bit fatter/fuller/holding more water

Uhhh is there something wrong with hiring Stan Efferding for guidance on bulking up and the diet that would go along with that?
Yes, I like Stan Efferding, I’m a big bodybuilding/powerlifting fan, but no MMA fighter should hire him. I get it’s just nutrition and training, but his skill set is different from a Mike Dolce or George Lockhart who would be telling him he’s just getting fat and it’s a bad idea

Looking like a "stud" doesn't equate to good performance in the octagon, also that photo is with really good lighting and a pump

On the left Jon is lean, on the right Jon has no or very little more muscle than he does on the left... he is just fatter, and holding a lot more water
swear to god I've got bigger calf muscles than Jones. It's almost comical how he has close to zero muscle below his knee.

I mean right after the OSP fight he obliterated DC
