Islam will never have the balls, heart, guts to go up to WW so what he say about this doesn't matter, Belal situation is a great excuse for him. People act like Jon is a new guy who just got his belt and these haters were saying Jon will never fight in the HW lol

BTW Islam challenging to BJ Penn is a joke but his big bro refusing to fight 40 years old GSP in WW is real so i think he should mock that.

"There should be no expectation for Jon to legitimize himself as a heavyweight if he wants to avoid it at all costs."

They need to stop trying to sell us this fight. Its embarassing. Just do it and get it over with.

The problem is Tom has an interim belt. The whole point of that belt is to go against the real champ.
This is wrong. The whole point of Tom's interim title was to save a PPV main event. The UFC never planned to have Tom fight Jones instead of Stipe. You can argue that the purpose of an interim title should be to determine a firm number one contender (I'd argue that interim titles are bullshit and simply shouldn't exist; either strip the champ or don't) but that doesn't make it true that that's the purpose of interim titles.

Aspinall and his fans need to realize he is the B side to the equation. Alex has just as much of a right to go up and challenge Jon Jones … he’s put in the work of being a dominant champ in a a division below.
Jones has more haters than Aspinall has fans, they know (i think we all do) that Aspinall is most likely THE guy to put Jones to sleep so its their last chance to see it happening, Khabib got away undefeated, Jones while technically not undefated has never been really beaten, shady decisions yes, but not actually been beaten, on his way to retire on the same way and that trully bothers his haters and the few Aspinall fans, its a good fight but Jones wont take it, ever.

Im just a fight fan, Jones vs Pereira sounds like a LHW supremacy type of fight to me, in the end Jones has only had 1 (soon to be 2) HW fights, Pereira isnt this super small guy that moved from MW and is making the most at LHW, he is as much of a HW as Jones probably is, same height with a bit less reach, used to post photos of himself being over 230lbs a few days after a MW fight, thats crazy, the man is great at weight cutting, Jones was never this massive LHW.

From a pure prizefighting point of view Pereira would make far more money.

If Aspinall were to bring out a black rubber sex doll with "Jon Jones' bitch mom" scribbled in lipstick, on its forehead, and started fucking it from behind shoitinh "Jon you duck pussy, I'll.fuck I up like I 'm.fickomg your......." errr

You get the drift lol

Jon should just roll with it and show the haters that they're not getting to him, and walk out to the cage wearing one of these:

When the UFC social media team films some videos or skits with Jones they should try and make him wear duck stuff lol.

Rose is such a dud. At least everyone else played along with it.

Agreed.

The truth is, Tom Aspinall never actually beat a Champion.
His big claim to fame is he beat the (now, multi-loser, never Champion) Sergei Pavlovich.

Meanwhile, Jones opted to face Stipe Miocic = the UFC GOAT, 2X Heavyweight Champion, and Stipe has beaten more former UFC Heavyweight Champions than anyone else in the division.

If Jones fights another fight after Stipe, he should opt to face Alex Pereira, a former UFC Middleweight Champion, who defeated the undefeated #2 GOAT MW Champion, Israel Adesanya ... and is now the current UFC LHW Champion, having now defeated 3 former UFC Light Heavyweight Champions — Jan Błachowicz, Jiří Procházka, and Jamaal Hill — in the LHW division Jones used to rule.

The Pereira fight is a 1000x more important, and interesting than the Aspinall fight, especially for Jones' own legacy. Aspinall does nothing for Jones, legacy-wise. Tom is not the legit champ and has never beaten a legit champ.
He probably fucking would be if this piss taker Jones actually fought who he should, rather than keep the belt hostage, due to Dana privilege. Jon Jones is the GOAT! (and all that).

Agreed
After he beats Aspinall there will be someone else for him to fight

Mma fans were happy enough for Gsp to cherry pick bisping to pick up an easy title then run away after

The same guy that ran away in his prime after the controversial fight vs hendricks

This isn't a post to hate gsp, he is number 3 on my UFC goat list and 4 overall, but it's more to point out the double standards
Did GSP get to win the belt, fight Rich Franklin, then defend against Frankie Edgar? What is proposed here is an absolute joke.

Whether or not Jones could beat Aspinall is not the subject.

The subject is actual world-class, Champions facing other actual world-class Champions for legacy ... and Aspinall isn't one, and has never beaten one.

He is a serious contender, and he may beat both, but he does nothing for their legacy.

Anything Jon Jones is doing as a HW champion is a cherry on top of his illustrious career.

Fighting Pereira over Aspinall would make sense. Alex is KOing people left and right in a division below and he’s not a small guy. He has a Heavyweight frame.

Aspinall and his fans need to realize he is the B side to the equation. Alex has just as much of a right to go up and challenge Jon Jones … he’s put in the work of being a dominant champ in a a division below.

You are incorrect.

This is a clear and blatant duck on the behalf of Jones to avoid a very difficult fight, that he should be mandated to take, to favor a much easier fight vs a smaller opponent where he's a stylistic advantage. It is nothing more than a scripted move to inflate his legacy in a fake way. It's very clear Jon is protecting his undefeated record and very clearly afraid to fight Tom.

Jon put out this interview yesterday dismissing Aspinal, it reeked of cowardice and fear and he used all these BS excuses. He claimed Tom is a nobody and he is not as accomplished, even going as far to compare him to Johny Walker. . But fact of the matter is that Jon is a newbie and a nobody at HW compared to Aspinal. He has one fight at HW where he was gifted a title shot, while Aspinal has done far far more at HW and is the A side in that equation.

And anything Jon does at HW is not a cherry on top of his career. So he doesn't get to pick and choose these things to inflate his legacy. He is the HW champ and if he's in that position, you fight the best and defend your title. If he was just taking legacy fights, by all means, call the shots. But not in this case.

It's very clear Jon is scared in this situation.

I'm a Jones fan too, but you need to stop, bro.

Jones needs to fight Tom or vacate, those are his only options.

It's fine to vacate and fight Alex if that's the fight he wants, but you can't call yourself the champ if you're not willing to fight the CLEAR contender.

Optics are terrible for Jones.
Like I said, I'm a fan and he's clearly the GOAT to me.

But this is just ducking, plain and simple, let's get real.
