It's just like Groundhog Day except Groundhog Day was actually good.
If I were the UFC I would politely tell Jones no thanks.
True, but it's for me. Knowing how bad it would kill Jones to be discarded would be awesome. LolThe UFC is desperate for drama and known "stars" to create a buzz. Its not like they are just some sports organization concerned with their image and some quality standard. Remember they had a large "You too can be like Conor" seminar and then gave the fighters some snack bags
Jones has completely lost the plot, wouldn't be surprised if he's dead within 5yrs.
Jon will fight the HW champion at the end of the year even if it is Tom Aspinall?
I can't imagine the UFC letting Jones anywhere near a title fight regardless of who's champion. Working with him again would be one thing, but letting him possibly win a belt again would be an extraordinary new level of stupid crazy. Whatever the details of his contract might seem to say, Jones at this point can only ever be on a one-fight contract at most, which is not reconcilable with giving him a title fight.
If there ends up being a White House card and if Jones ends up fighting on it, neither of which has good odds, it'll be something like a Jones/Ngannou one off or a complete freak-show fight, not a title fight.
What are you on about? His fanbase dwindled due to Aspinall? You mean not the fact he has barely fought AT ALL the past 5 years you throw Aspinall in there lol. You don’t quite understand the fanbase of Jon Jones. The most fanatic people arehis haters that just can’t quit the man. They don’t understand they are fans but they have hated the man so long they don’t understand they never cared for a fighter as much as they have Jones. The people that love his fights they sat back and laugh at the shit because they understand this dynamicThis is true!
Although, I don't think Jon's building of his brand will go as far as he hopes it will. We both know what his actual PPV numbers were and that his fanbase is more of a hyper focused niche of people that has dwindled over the years, especially after the ducking fiasco with Tom.
I just hope Jon can stay at home and focus on being a good father instead of going around committing vehicular felonies and yapping about fights he'll never take!

Multiple well trusted sources have Jones first agreeing to the fight then backtracking later. If he’d agreed to fight him and then backed out I would agree.
But it sounds like he was clear early on that he wanted to go in a different direction, but then the UFC just kept on him, hoping he would change his mind.
A White House event would raise the stakes even higher. Even more money, plus he “retired” and would be rechallenging for the title, so there would be added legacy points attached to that.
I would lean towards ngannou or pereira as well, but maybe the aspinall pot is too sweet to pass up.
I think it’ll depend on Tom’s next few fights. What he shows and is revealed about him, if anything.
They won't let that happen. Tom will not be anywhere in the vicinity of the White House lawnTbh I think it's a worse idea than just fighting Tom on ANY other card.
Losing to a Brit on the White House lawn would be a pretty bad mark on that 'legacy' Jon's consumed with.
Ice didn't get the memoWatch Jon get arrested right as Herb claps and says "fight"
The easiest way to avoid Jon is to hold the HW title. Also stay off the roads in New Mexico.Lucky Punch Aspinall will lose on purpose to avoid Jones.
We're all burnt out on this, but Jon vs Tom is still one of the biggest fights in combat sports.
Jones vs Tom finally gonna happen?!
Jones vs Tom is one of few fights big enough to headline a White House card. They won't let that happen. Tom will not be anywhere in the vicinity of the White House lawn
The white house card is BS. It won't happen calling it now.Jones vs Tom is one of few fights big enough to headline a White House card.
