Rumored Jon Jones: "Ill Take On WHOEVER Has HW Title @ End Of Year"

It's just like Groundhog Day except Groundhog Day was actually good.
If I were the UFC I would politely tell Jones no thanks.

The UFC is desperate for drama and known "stars" to create a buzz. Its not like they are just some sports organization concerned with their image and some quality standard. Remember they had a large "You too can be like Conor" seminar and then gave the fighters some snack bags

True, but it's for me. Knowing how bad it would kill Jones to be discarded would be awesome. Lol

Jones has completely lost the plot, wouldn't be surprised if he's dead within 5yrs.

Someone needs to use AI or whatever to make a "Conor and Jones" poster with them as Thelma and Louise in the car going off the cliff.

I can't imagine the UFC letting Jones anywhere near a title fight regardless of who's champion. Working with him again would be one thing, but letting him possibly win a belt again would be an extraordinary new level of stupid crazy. Whatever the details of his contract might seem to say, Jones at this point can only ever be on a one-fight contract at most, which is not reconcilable with giving him a title fight.

If there ends up being a White House card and if Jones ends up fighting on it, neither of which has good odds, it'll be something like a Jones/Ngannou one off or a complete freak-show fight, not a title fight.

If he’d agreed to fight him and then backed out I would agree.

But it sounds like he was clear early on that he wanted to go in a different direction, but then the UFC just kept on him, hoping he would change his mind.

A White House event would raise the stakes even higher. Even more money, plus he “retired” and would be rechallenging for the title, so there would be added legacy points attached to that.

I would lean towards ngannou or pereira as well, but maybe the aspinall pot is too sweet to pass up.

I think it’ll depend on Tom’s next few fights. What he shows and is revealed about him, if anything.

Does Jon and his simp fanbase think saying stuff like this is going to make the entire world ignore the fact he bitched out like a pussy?

If I were Dana the UFC, I wouldn't even give Jon the fight period. Why should he? Jon never went to bat for the UFC once this year, didn't even want to fight for them. Jon wants to defend what? Once every two years? Sorry, but it doesn't work like that. Dana should just keep offering Jon cheap or bad fights, so Jon can turn them down and he can never compete in MMA elsewhere. Jon can ride the pines into obscurity or come back and get smoked. The UFC literally has ALL the power when it comes to negotiating with fighters, but Dana can't get it done? Perhaps it is because Jon is a nightmare to deal with.

For those claiming Jon's a huge draw, he isn't. Never was. So it won't be "throwing away PPV buys" by going with a "lesser" fighter. Jon is NOT a company man, I doubt you could claim he ever was. Put someone in there who's going to back up their mouth instead of just running it. It's rewarding Jon... yet again... by giving him any potential White House card fight. Sorry, but Jon and Conor have been fucking the UFC over for years. It blows my mind these two are still catered to. The two of them should literally be giving Daddy Dana daily reacharounds at this point. They're both laughing stocks and embarassments.

In my 5+ decades on this planet and 95% of that time either fighting or watching boys/men fight, you gotta be fucking stupid to not see that Jon's terrified to face Tom. When a person (say Jon) is so insecure that he needs another person kept away from him, refuses to answer questions about another person, and become visibly agitated when discussing a particular person... he can offer up any excuse he wants... they (Tom) have already won. The fight's just a formality.

I don't know what this fake retirement was meant to accomplish other than Jon looking like a bitch and the UFC desperately trying to save face. I've said it before, and I will still stand on it. Jon fighting and losing to Tom doesn't tarnish Jon's legacy at all but it would go a long way towards Jon earning respect by everyone.

Fuck it... let's have fun with it. Want to make a banging White House main card?

Aspinall vs Lewis (Jones if the simps need to feel included)
Nunes vs Harrison
Max's swan song against Conor at 155lbs. Holloway retiring on the White House lawn standing over a KO'd Conor would be a pic for the ages.
Gaethje vs Paddy
Garry vs. Covington

I don't see a single fight reaching the final bell. Could probably have 6 or 7 fights on the main card, lol. Sterling and Silva? Strickland vs Chimaev? Prates vs Buckley?

This is true! <lol>
Although, I don't think Jon's building of his brand will go as far as he hopes it will. We both know what his actual PPV numbers were and that his fanbase is more of a hyper focused niche of people that has dwindled over the years, especially after the ducking fiasco with Tom.

I just hope Jon can stay at home and focus on being a good father instead of going around committing vehicular felonies and yapping about fights he'll never take!
<28>
What are you on about? His fanbase dwindled due to Aspinall? You mean not the fact he has barely fought AT ALL the past 5 years you throw Aspinall in there lol. You don’t quite understand the fanbase of Jon Jones. The most fanatic people arehis haters that just can’t quit the man. They don’t understand they are fans but they have hated the man so long they don’t understand they never cared for a fighter as much as they have Jones. The people that love his fights they sat back and laugh at the shit because they understand this dynamic

Multiple well trusted sources have Jones first agreeing to the fight then backtracking later.

Tbh I think it's a worse idea than just fighting Tom on ANY other card.

Losing to a Brit on the White House lawn would be a pretty bad mark on that 'legacy' Jon's consumed with.
They won't let that happen. Tom will not be anywhere in the vicinity of the White House lawn

he's gonna do it, 100%. the chance to fight at the White House, for the gov, under Trump, is just too big of an opportunity to ignore. this can absolve jones of his sins, similar to the concept of tikkun olun. to absolve himself of his sins, the greatest prize. Jones will do it, against whoever is the HW champ, and he will win easily. he just needs the challenge he views worthy. Aspinall for ESPN bucks? who fucking cares. Aspinall or whoever for legitimacy in the grandest of US politics/order? far bigger than beating dominic reyes. or banging valentina shevhcenko. this is the move he makes, this is the move he best his career on. and he wins. thanks obama.

We're all burnt out on this, but Jon vs Tom is still one of the biggest fights in combat sports.

Jones vs Tom finally gonna happen?!

Only if its a 1 dimensional fighter which is entirely possible at HW

I called it. I said Jon will only fight Tom when he feels irrelevant & it only took a few weeks lol
