It's war is not a justification for just any behaviour, we agree internationally on a lot of behaviour patterns.

From a US perspective I think I would be upset that Israel, your client, the beneficiary of your war funding to the tune of 22 billion dollars (declared), had attacked a unrelated country you had given assurances to.

This is Americas war, it's paid for over 70% of it so far, America arranged for the peace talks and gave guarantees to Qatar and Hamas, and Israel yet again proves you are their bitch. Israel only let the US know when the American jets they fly were in the air. America let Qatar know 10 min after the attack.

It's a criminal action, by a state born of ideological terrorism.

At the very best it makes the US look stupid and complicit.

I haven’t seen any confirmation of this yet but we likely were complicit in that we were given a warning Israel was coming and we didn’t alert Qatar. We have 10k troops there and most importantly, we have an anti-air defense battalion there at all times that Qatar contracts the US for to protect them. This has been going on for long than I know, but at least 15 years now. It’s actually kind of how we maintained funding for our air defense units during the war on terror when we didn’t need them.

So yeah, this is a huge deal. I am fairly confident that we knew they were coming. Otherwise our air defense would have picked them up and engaged them because they wouldn’t know who the hell it was invading their airspace.

This is potentially a disaster that Israel has put us in. Qatar is a rare friend in the ME to us that can broker deals with less friendly actors in the region. They also pay us to be there and give us land to have strategically placed bases on. Honestly fuck Netanyahu for this.

I never claimed that the allies forced Hitler to be what he was. I just made the general argument that bombing people and treating them like shit tends to prime radical idealogies more so than not. There is obviously fluctuation and what not. We bombed Korea and Indochina pretty bad. They have yet to reach the wretchedness of Nazi Germany.

No offense but your understanding of WW1 is a bit off. The German homefront was basically unscathed, strategic bombing was barely a concept let alone practiced at scale and artillery simply does not have that sort of range, even today. The majority of the war was fought on French and Belgian soil, not even in Germany.

The issues in Germany post-war came from the punitive measures agreed to in the Treaty of Versailles, which had the Germans paying out large sums in indemnities to the Allies, and the general sentiment of betrayal felt by the military class toward their political leaders.
