Who would you have as #1 pound for pound fighter?

Jones has won multiple belts in multiple weight classes so by definition he is the pound for pound king. Islam can’t be number one by knocking out a featherweight at lightweight.
Jones was considered pound for pound whilst LHW so I'm not sure the definition is (as proven) multiple weight classes.

It is surely skill/fighter ability regardless of weight.

The fact is they're only putting Jones up there to help promote the fight with Stipe, that alone should tell you all you need to know, he's looked like a sloppy mess his last few fights (lost to Reyes, Draw with Santos, DQ vs Smith for grounded knee, and Gane was a cherrypicked free style matchup). Jones hasn't had a meaningful, impressive win since the DC rematch which itself was overturned due to roids. P4P = illegitimate list used as a marketing tool, and that's that.

Islam obviously. But in prize fighting, whoever has the next PPV is considered #1P4P. Is normal.

Islam and it's not even close. Sean Strickland is above Israel Adesanya in p4p rankings because it's about who is the best in the world today, not lifetime achievements.

Jon only has 1 current top 10 HW win (Cyril Gane) and 1 current top 10 LHW win (Anthony Smith). Meanwhile, Islam just finished 2 of the current top 5 p4p (Oliveira and Volkanovski).

There is no possible justification in the world for having Islam above Jones

Gus rematch was after the second DC fight in which Jon won effortlessly via TKO. I'd say that was pretty meaningful

As for the DC win not being meaningful because of roids, DC himself says otherwise lol. He admits and knows he lost

The guy who actually did P4P by successfully moving up a weight class.

Not the guy who's doing the opposite of it by repeatedly fighting a guy from the weight class below.
