Is this Really Anderson "The Spider" Silva's Boxing Record?

It looks like Sherdog has picked up on Silva's Boxrec situation:

Silva Boxes Himself In

But Jones, at 52-4, has 54 more professional boxing matches than Silva, who, according to boxrec.com, has only two bouts to his credit -- one of which resulted in a TKO loss. And where Silva has spent years fracturing his attention between jiu-jitsu, muay Thai, wrestling and pugilism, Jones has only had to concern himself with the delicate art of dislocating molars....

There's also the not-insignificant matter of having a 1-1 Silva fight a former multi-division champion with dozens of fights. Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer, a possible host for the hypothetical bout, says that sanctioning the fight is "possible," but expresses concern over taking away a majority of Silva's artillery.

I'd still like to see this fight so if anyone finds video please upload it. If you find an article that would be good to post as well.

maybe silva wants to fight RJJ because he actually wants to make some money during a fight.

Standing fetal to bring it home lol.

Jack Rossen wrote a fairly good article on the front page, which I have to say is in sharp contrast to the last article or two Ive read from him.

why is everyone laughing at his defense?

cough mike tyson?

first, you dont LOOK AT THE GROUND when you box, or fight, or anything for that matter. EYES ON YOUR OPPONENT. and keeping you hands around your ears and looking down means you aren't paying attention to the guy, which results in getting your ass kicked. the guy doesnt even have BASIC FUNDAMENTALS to defend himself.

in boxing sitting in the corner in a fetul position with your eyes on the floor HOPING the guy will go away doesnt work. you move. thats where footwork and head movement comes in.

1. brazil sucks at boxing. their pro level is not even our amatuer level, as evidenced here. only exception is eder jofre and popo freitas.

2. silva beat someone with a negative record who sucks.

3. silva fucking sucks as well.

and what do you mean "cough mike tyson?" tyson never fought like that, ***got.

This thread highlights the difference in the quality of posting, and by extension posters, in the HW forum and the boxing forum.

I thought the joke was referring to Tyson's ear-chewing episode. I'll concede that Jesus's defense works well against that attack.

On Wikipedia they have a section on Anderson Silva's entry that claims he made his Boxing debut in 2005 that took place in Brazil against Julio Cesar De Jesus:

The citation links to a Boxing record profile of "Anderson Da Silva". But the record shows a fighter with a 1-1 record saying his debut was a loss to Osmar Teixeira in 1998.

I cannot find a video nor a credible Sports news article for either of these fights. I searched the forums and found nothing conclusively confirming or denying Silva's link to this record.
come on now the only source for anderson's loss in boxing is boxrec... yet there are several sources claiming anderson's pro boxing record is 1-0

if someone posted a pic or an article or some form of proof i would instantly believe it as such but that has yet to materialize despite many inquires on the subject.
I just want to see corroborating evidence for the 1998 fight recently added to Boxrec. McCoy offered a decent lead:

I'd like to see this lead confirmed from a documented source. If anyone has access to the magazines McCoy mentioned please find them and post a pic with a scan of the results.

If you can find pics or video that's even better.
you boxing huggers are going around proclaiming that anderson was knocked out as if it proves boxing > mma, you people make me sick, there is no evidence that backs up the 1998 bout other than the infallible (sarcasm) boxrec

i'll believe it when i see the slightest bit of proof
so far there has been absolutely none materialized
Hey MMAddict and/or MysticNinjaJay,
I could tell where.
Where what?

...it's in your @$$...
.

Anderson stands to make a good pay day here, and if he looks in any way good losing to RJJ, then he will get respect as well. This fight would be fucking hard to sanction though.

People go to Anderson Silva seminars all the time that also post on this forum, I bet you could find one and have him ask Anderson himself what his boxing record is.
